Cambodia tourism minister suggests additional South Korean air links
PHNOM PENH: Cambodia has requested that Asiana Airlines explore the possibility of operating flights between South Korea and the Kingdom's Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces. At present, the Seoul-headquartered airline flies to Phnom Penh. Prior to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline served Cambodia's two provincial international airports. This proposal was raised by Minister of Tourism Huot Hak, during a June 5 meeting with Park Jongman, vice-CEO and head of Passenger Affairs at the airline, in Seoul. During the meeting, Hak expressed his appreciation for the company's contribution to providing safe and comfortable air transport services between Cambodia and South Korea. He urged the airline to consider expanding its direct flights to Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk, which are both considered popular tourist areas in Cambodia. 'We requested continued assistance and suggested examining the possibility of further expansion through direct and regular flights to Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces, which are popular tourist destinations, to provide a level of convenience to Korean and other international guests and investors travelling to Cambodia,' he said. Sinn Chanserey Vutha, spokesperson for the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), told The Post on June 9 that the authorities are constantly working to attract more international airlines and foreign visitors to Cambodia. 'We welcome all airlines wishing to fly to Cambodia. The country is fully prepared to receive flights as well as tourists and foreign investors coming to visit Cambodia,' he said. On Sept 9, the new Techo International Airport will commence operations. The facility is a 'Greenfield' airport, meaning it was built on area that was previously undeveloped land, in this case, 2,600 hectares in Kandal province, about 19km south of Phnom Penh. A 4F-category airport, it was designed to accommodate large aircraft such as the Airbus A380-800 and Boeing 747-800. The airport is being developed in three phases, Phase 1 (2020–2030) will handle 15 million passengers per year, Phase 2 (2030–2050) will see capacity grow to 30 million and Phase 3 (after 2050) will reach 45 million. - The Phnom Penh Post/ANN

British Airways flight attendant allegedly found dancing naked in plane toilet
A British Airways flight attendant was allegedly discovered dancing naked in a business class bathroom during a trans-Atlantic flight after reportedly ingesting drugs. According to media reports, the AWOL staff member was found after managerial staff noticed he was not present for his meal service duties aboard the Airbus A380-800 bound for London Heathrow over the weekend. James Manning/ Getty Images After searching the plane, the cabin staff reportedly discovered their scantily-clad coworker dancing alone in the toilet. Story continues below advertisement They proceeded to dress their colleague in pyjamas usually offered to first-class passengers, before strapping him into a first-class seat for the remainder of the almost 11-hour flight, according to multiple reports. Police stationed at London Heathrow Airport told People in a statement that officers were contacted by the cabin crew of the inbound flight at 9:32 a.m. local time on Sunday, May 25, regarding the welfare of a man onboard. He has since been released and is under investigation, the statement concluded. Meanwhile, the airline told People that the situation was 'a matter for the police.' While stories of unruly flight staff are few and far between, incidents involving misbehaving passengers, and sometimes animals, occur from time to time as well. Last week, a Delta Air Lines flight got off to a very disorderly start when two pigeons inside the plane's cabin caused a brief bout of panic among passengers. An aptly-named Instagram user, Tom Caw, shared details from the scene, writing that he heard another passenger tell a flight attendant that there was a pigeon on the plane. Story continues below advertisement 'The pilot got on the mic and confirmed a pigeon was on the plane, and said he had no experience with the situation,' Caw wrote. It wasn't long until Caw wrote, 'baggage handlers boarded and carried the pigeon off. People applauded. A young girl asked if she could pet it.' Last month, a customer travelling from New York to Milan, Italy, on an American Airlines flight left staff with no choice but to turn the plane around and fly back to the U.S. after he allegedly threw a fit over his meal. The airline said the passenger became increasingly angry when he did not receive the meal he believed he had requested in his booking. He also reportedly attempted to take an exit row and challenged flight attendants when he was informed he was not permitted to sit there because he was traveling with a child, Good Morning America reported. Story continues below advertisement Upon landing in New York City, police boarded the plane and removed the man and his family. Later, the pilot apologized to staff, saying, 'We normally don't see that type of behaviour on an international flight like that. I am so sorry that this happened; it was out of our control.' The passengers were offered meal vouchers for the inconvenience, and the man was reportedly not charged. — with files from Global News' Michelle Butterfield

British Airways air steward got high, was found dancing naked in aircraft toilet mid-flight
A flight attendant was taken by police from a British Airways flight from San Francisco to London on May 25. PHOTO: AFP Talk about in-flight entertainment. A crew member on a British Airways flight from San Francisco to London was found dancing completely naked – and allegedly high as a kite – inside a business class toilet while on shift mid-flight. British tabloid The Sun, which first reported the May 25 incident, said the 41-year-old flight attendant was supposed to be serving meals to passengers when he suddenly went missing. The in-flight crew manager later found him completely naked and dancing inside a toilet in business class. 'We think the guy popped pills when he was meant to be working,' The Sun quoted one crew member as saying. The crew member said the plane was cruising at 11,200m over the Atlantic, 'but this bloke seemed to be higher than anyone else'. The flight attendant was dressed up in a spare pair of pyjamas, and buckled into a seat where he stayed for the remainder of the 10-hour flight. He was escorted out of the plane – a double-decker Airbus A380-800 – at Heathrow Airport in London by officers from the Metropolitan Police, and taken to a hospital. 'Officers arrested the man after he received medical attention. He was arrested on suspicion of being unfit for duty. He has since been released under investigation,' the Met said in a statement. A crew member on the flight told The Sun: 'This job can do ridiculous things to people, but staging a one-man disco in a Club World toilet is a new one for me.' BA steward 'danced naked in business class toilet instead of serving food'
The steward, who was supposed to be serving meals in the premium Club World cabin, allegedly vanished before a crew boss found him completely naked and dancing inside a business class A British Airways flight took a bizarre and unsettling turn when a male crew member was allegedly found stark naked and dancing in a business class toilet - while he was supposed to be serving food. The alleged incident unfolded aboard an Airbus A380-800 last Sunday, as the aircraft cruised at 30,000ft with around 470 passengers and crew on board the journey from San Francisco to London Heathrow. The steward, who was supposed to be serving meals in the premium Club World cabin, reportedly vanished, sparking confusion and concern amongst colleagues who were left scrambling to manage a busy in-flight service. The in-flight crew boss launched a discreet search and was stunned to find him completely naked and jigging energetically inside the business class loo, The Sun reports. The man was then reportedly wrapped in a pair of pyjamas reserved for First Class passengers, quietly escorted to the First Class cabin and strapped into a luxury seat for the remainder of the 10-and-a-half hour journey. British Airways bosses alerted the police, who met the plane as it landed at 11am. The steward received medical attention and was arrested, before being suspended from duty amid an ongoing investigation into the matter. One worker told The Sun: "It is an extraordinary thing to do... This job can do ridiculous things to people, but staging a one-man disco in a Club World toilet is a new one on me." British Airways said it is a police matter. The Mirror has contacted the Met Police for comment.
