British Airways air steward got high, was found dancing naked in aircraft toilet mid-flight
Talk about in-flight entertainment.
A crew member on a British Airways flight from San Francisco to London was found dancing completely naked – and allegedly high as a kite – inside a business class toilet while on shift mid-flight.
British tabloid The Sun, which first reported the May 25 incident, said the 41-year-old flight attendant was supposed to be serving meals to passengers when he suddenly went missing.
The in-flight crew manager later found him completely naked and dancing inside a toilet in business class.
'We think the guy popped pills when he was meant to be working,' The Sun quoted one crew member as saying.
The crew member said the plane was cruising at 11,200m over the Atlantic, 'but this bloke seemed to be higher than anyone else'.
The flight attendant was dressed up in a spare pair of pyjamas, and buckled into a seat where he stayed for the remainder of the 10-hour flight.
He was escorted out of the plane – a double-decker Airbus A380-800 – at Heathrow Airport in London by officers from the Metropolitan Police, and taken to a hospital.
'Officers arrested the man after he received medical attention. He was arrested on suspicion of being unfit for duty. He has since been released under investigation,' the Met said in a statement.
A crew member on the flight told The Sun: 'This job can do ridiculous things to people, but staging a one-man disco in a Club World toilet is a new one for me.'

Spanish teen under investigation over nude AI images of classmates
Find out what's new on ST website and app. The probe was launched after 16 young women came forward to complain of AI-generated images of them circulating on social media and the internet. MADRID – Spanish police said July 27 they were investigating a 17-year-old on suspicion of using artificial intelligence to deepfake nude images of female classmates for sale. The probe was launched after 16 young women at an educational institute in the Valencia region came forward to complain of AI-generated images of them circulating on social media and the internet. The first complaint was lodged in December 2024 by an teen who said an AI-generated video and fake photos resembling her 'completely naked' were posted on a social media account started under her name. As more accusations came in, police suspected the images were the work of a student in the same institute, according to a statement by the police. Tracking the IP addresses used to create the bogus accounts led them to the home of the 17-year-old now under investigation on suspicion of corruption of minors. It is not the first time that the Spanish authorities have detected AI-created pornographic images of minors. The government in March said it would put forward a law to treat such deepfaked sexual imagery created by AI without consent as a crime. The Bill, which Madrid claims to be a first in Europe, has yet to be passed by the Parliament. AFP

4 Malaysian immigration officers at JB-Singapore checkpoint arrested over 'flying passport' scheme, Malaysia News
Four enforcement officers at Malaysia's Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex were nabbed for allegedly accepting bribes in what authorities call a "flying passport" scheme. The term refers to when a person's passport is carried across the border by a third party and stamped without the holder being physically present. The passports are later returned to the owners, who had entered Malaysia illegally. This allows them to bypass immigration processes, reported The Star. The officers are suspected of receiving RM3,000 (S$910) in bribes, according to the New Straits Times (NST). The two main suspects were detained during an unannounced inspection at the checkpoint on Friday (July 25). Another two were arrested for allegedly abetting the scheme on Saturday. BSI CIQ Commander Roszita Dim said the two are a 31-year-old officer and a 49-year-old supervisor, reported Bernama. During the operation, authorities found suspicious data entries linked to the ID of an officer manning a car zone counter, including records of foreigners identified as problematic visitors that would need to be manually corrected. About RM2,800 in cash were found at the car clearance counter, and 14 foreign passports stashed in a bag hidden in the ceiling of another counter. Two mobile phones were reportedly seized from the officer at the car counter, and another two from the motorcycle zone supervisor. "Initial investigations suggest that the cash and mobile phones are linked to bribery transactions involving the 'flying passport' scheme," NST quoted a source from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission as saying. The suspects allegedly received around RM200 for each passport stamped. [[nid:720102]]
