BYD To Expand Product Line In India, Set To Launch Another Midsize SUV Soon

Ahead of the official release in the country, the e-SUV has been spied during the testing phase, revealing some of the important details about the upcoming offering.
The Chinese carmaker Build Your Dreams, Aka BYD, is all set to bring a new option in the mid-size SUV segment for Indian customers. The company is gearing up to launch a new EV called Atto 2.
Ahead of the official release in the country, the e-SUV has been spied during the testing phase, revealing some of the important details about the upcoming offering. To note, the brand has not revealed any official details about the same as yet. Even the launch date is not confirmed yet. However, some reports claim that the model is likely to hit the market in the coming months.
What To Expect?
The Atto 2 will share a lot of styling cues with other siblings in the fleet, featuring the BYD logo at the front, an impressive LED headlight setup with a trending connected light bar at both ends, paired with daytime running lamps. The overall road presence will be complemented by dual-tone alloy wheels, ranging from 16 to 17 inches.
Overall Size
Talking about the dimensions, the Atto 2 will be 4,310mm long, and will get 1,830mm width, ,675mm height, and might have a wheelbase of 2,620mm. It is expected to look quite similar to the elder sibling Atto 3, but remain smaller in dimension.
The specs are under wrap as yet. However, in the internation market, Atto 2 EV comes with a front-wheel-drive setup, flaunting either a 51.1kWh or a 45.1kWh Blade battery setup. These units offer a maximum range between 410km (NEDC) and 312km (WLTP). It is capable of doing 0-100kph in 7.9 seconds.
Rivals
The model is already on sale in the international market, and will compete with the hot-selling products in India, such as Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara.
