Akka Sanjeevini Angadi launched in Udupi
Udupi: The Sanjeevini scheme in the district earned recognition for its innovative initiatives that support women's empowerment. To ensure proper market access for the products prepared by women of the Sanjeevini self-help groups and to further encourage their entrepreneurial pursuits, Sanjeevini sales outlets are being set up and managed by the women themselves.

These women are not only emerging as entrepreneurs, but are also helping to create a market network for products made by other
. The initiative aims to establish such shops (angadi) within various gram panchayat limits.
On a pilot basis, the Shirva and Katapadi gram panchayats in Kaup taluk were identified as models. Shops were constructed in these two panchayats under the name 'Akka Sanjeevini Angadi' with the aim of introducing products made by the Sanjeevini self-help groups to the public.
Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty recently inaugurated the newly built shops in Shirva and Katapadi.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that women today are not limited to household duties, but are stepping out as entrepreneurs. With women now representing all fields, society is gradually transitioning from being male-dominated to female-led. Women are emerging as community leaders, not just household heads, through the Sanjeevini initiative.
He wished success to all women entrepreneurs and expressed hope that similar Akka Sanjeevini outlets would be launched in more locations. With the implementation of various novel programmes, the district has become a model for the state.
