When Akshaye Khanna said he's looking forward to finding a right partner but not mentally ready for marriage: ‘I have never received this feeling from anyone'

Akshaye Khanna has chosen to not marry and the actor has always been very vocal about his opinions on it. In an old interview, the actor had once mentioned how he is looking forward to finding a right partner, but so far he has never met anyone who gives him that feeling that he wants to spend the rest of his life with someone. When he was asked about why he hasn't yet got married, he had said in an interview with Anuradha Prasad, 'Life partner milna toh chahiye. You need to find the right girl for yourself before deciding to get married. It is wrong to marry for the sake of it, thinking family is putting pressure on you and you did it. That's wrong.' He added, 'I don't have anything specific that I need in my partner. When you fall in love, you fall in love with the totality of the person. It can't be one reason. I have never received this feeling from anyone who would make me want to spend the rest of my life with her. It has not happened yet.' Akshaye did seem hopeful to find his lady love though. 'I am hoping it will happen one day,' he said. But he also added that he's not mentally prepared to get married. 'I don't think I am mentally prepared for it. Neither do I know if I can do the adjustment. But, I guess when a person falls in love, they can do it. I will never settle for an arranged marriage. It has to be love. I will be able to do all the compromises that people usually do in a marriage is only when I am madly in love with that person. Otherwise, it won't be possible at all.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Indiana: Big Changes Leaves Drivers Fuming Read More This was a while ago. I am not marriage material. I am not cut out for that kind of life. It is a commitment , but a drastic lifestyle change. Marriage changes everything. I want full control over my life. When you share your life with somebody else, you can't have full control. You have to give a lot of control away. You share each other's lives. I am not willing to give up. Actor Akshaye Khanna, son of veteran star Vinod Khanna, recently made headlines when he revealed he doesn't want to get married at all. During the promotion of his recent film Chhavaa, Akshaye Khanna shared how he thinks he is not 'marriage material' and wants full control over his life. However, there was a time when the actor was hopeful to find the right girl and be married to her. In an old interview, the Dil Chahta Hai star had spoken in length about his marriage plans and the kind of girl he is looking for to settle down with. Speaking to Anuradha Prasad, the actor complained how it is not him who is avoiding marriage but he is unable to find the right partner. He said, 'Life partner milna toh chahiye. You need to find the right girl for yourself before deciding to get married. It is wrong to marry for the sake of it, thinking family is putting pressure on you and you did it. That's wrong.' Akshaye Khanna said that he doesn't have any specific criteria for the girl of his dreams as he believes in falling in love with the totality of the person than just a single trait. 'I don't have anything specific that I need in my partner. When you fall in love, you fall in love with the totality of the person. It can't be one reason. He shared, 'I don't think I am mentally prepared for it. Neither do I know if I can do the adjustment. But, I guess when a person falls in love, they can do it. You share each other's lives.' He added, 'I am not willing to give up. I don't think even in the future I will be willing to do that.' Akshaye Khanna was once reported to be dating Karisma Kapoor. The couple were also set to get married when Karisma's mother Babita expressed her disagreement as she wanted her daughter to focus on her career. She allegedly didn't approve of Akshaye Khanna's career graph, ending their relationship.

Akshaye Khanna Never Wanted To Work With Father Vinod Khanna After His Debut Film: ‘Difficult To Match…'

Akshaye Khanna made his debut with Himalay Putra in 1997 — a film that also featured Vinod Khanna. Akshaye Khanna is one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood. He made his debut with Himalay Putra in 1997 — a film that also featured Vinod Khanna. But did you know he once admitted that he did not work with him again? In an old interview with IANS, Akshaye Khanna accepted that it is difficult to match his father onscreen. Akshaye Khanna was quoted as saying, 'There are certain people whom you shouldn't work with. My dad is one of them. Amitabh Bachchan is another. To stand in the same frame as them confidently is impossible. They've such an overpowering screen presence. It's very difficult to match my father on screen. It's that quality – either you have it, or you don't have it. Very frankly, I don't have it. I just don't have that kind of presence. There are some actors who just wash you away on screen. My dad is one of them." On speaking about biopics, the actor said, 'I haven't ever thought about it so I can't say. But I think biopics by nature, I suppose as accurate as they can be, the better for an actor. It's very challenging as well as risky for an actor to portray a real life character because you are portraying some one who actually existed. So, it becomes really difficult," added Akshaye, who said one must 'think 10 times" before playing a real-life character. Akshaye has played a real-life character, Hiralal Gandhi, Mahatama Gandhi's son, in Feroz Abbas Khan's Gandhi, My Father (2007). He was most recently seen as yet another historical character, Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, in Laxman Utekar's blockbuster period war drama Chhaava earlier this year. On the work front, Akshaye Khanna was last seen in Chhaava with Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. He will be next seen in Dhurandhar with Ranveer Singh. The shoot has been going on currently. Fans are now eagerly awaiting his next project, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar. As per reports, the film is heading into its final leg of shooting. With a gripping mix of action, drama, and suspense, the film is shaping up to be a high-octane cinematic experience. First Published:
