Jordan Lifts Restrictions on Poultry Imports from Brazil - Jordan News
The Ministry of Agriculture has lifted the previously imposed restrictions on poultry meat imports from Brazil, following the clearance of avian influenza concerns, according to Musbah Al-Tarawneh, Assistant Secretary-General for Livestock Affairs at the ministry. اضافة اعلان In a statement to Al-Mamlaka on Wednesday, Al-Tarawneh explained that Jordan had imposed restrictions in June on Brazilian poultry imports after a case of avian influenza was detected. He noted that Jordan imports an average of 8,000 to 10,000 tons of frozen chicken annually from Brazil, with the majority being used in local restaurants. Al-Tarawneh emphasized that technical teams at the ministry are closely monitoring health developments in countries exporting animal products and affirmed that the ministry will not hesitate to take necessary decisions to protect public health and the agricultural sector. Back in mid-June, the Ministry of Agriculture had announced the suspension of imports of live poultry and untreated poultry products from Brazil due to confirmed cases of bird flu. The decision was taken as a precautionary measure in line with the ministry's policy of safeguarding animal wealth, public health, and food security in the Kingdom. At the time, the ministry had stated that the suspension would remain in effect until the epidemiological situation in Brazil improves, and verified reports are received from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) confirming the outbreak is under control and that Brazilian veterinary authorities are implementing appropriate preventive and monitoring measures. It is worth noting that Brazil exported $10 billion worth of chicken meat last year, accounting for about 35% of global poultry trade.

Completion of "Tawjihi" Exam Grading and Start of Verification Process - Jordan News
The Ministry of Education has completed the grading process for all subjects of the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi), according to Director of Examinations and Assessments at the Ministry, Mohammad Shehadeh. اضافة اعلان Speaking to Al-Mamlaka on Wednesday, Shehadeh stated that the grading and mark entry processes have been finalized. The relevant teams at the ministry have now begun the verification and auditing phase of the exam booklets and answer sheets. He added that the ministry will not set a date for the announcement of results until all verification procedures — including auditing, cross-checking, and data entry — are fully completed, ensuring the accuracy of the final outcomes. Shehadeh emphasized that administrative and technical teams are making substantial efforts to release the results according to the ministry's established timeline. Extracting final grades requires extensive time and effort even after grading, to ensure that all student rights are preserved. He explained that each answer booklet undergoes a comprehensive multi-stage review process, which includes more than 27 steps, involving multiple specialized committees to inspect, audit, and cross-check both manually and electronically — ensuring accurate correction and mark aggregation. In a previous statement, Shehadeh estimated that the Tawjihi results would likely be announced during the first third of August, noting that results typically require 3 to 4 weeks to process after the final exam. This year's exams concluded on July 10, having begun on June 19, with approximately 209,871 students participating. He reaffirmed that the Ministry of Education is the only official source for announcing the results and their release date, urging the public not to believe any rumors or unofficial reports.

Maaytah: No Entity Has the Right to Claim It Protects Religion in Jordan - Jordan News
Maaytah: No Entity Has the Right to Claim It Protects Religion in Jordan Musa Maaytah, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, stated on Thursday that no entity has the right to claim it is the protector of religion in Jordan, emphasizing that everyone must respect the country's religious and ethnic diversity. اضافة اعلان During the launch of public opinion poll results on women's political participation in the 2024 parliamentary elections, Maaytah stressed that the protection of religion lies with the institutions established by law, not with those who merely claim to do so. He pointed out that His Majesty King Abdullah II has, for years, been the clear and consistent voice fighting for the Palestinian cause. Maaytah affirmed that Jordan has given much in support of the Palestinian cause, including the sacrifices of its martyrs, and continues to do so. He stressed that under the leadership of His Majesty, Jordan remains committed to defending Palestine, and that this responsibility lies solely with the state, as it holds the mandate for such efforts. 'We will not forget the blood of our martyrs, nor those who tried to exploit the nation,' he declared. He further emphasized that the Jordanian state is solely responsible for determining how support—whether financial, political, or organizational—is extended to the Palestinian people. Maaytah also highlighted the importance of allowing all political groups and viewpoints to exist in Jordan's public sphere, provided they respect the Jordanian state, its constitution, and its laws.
