Salwa Al-Sabah Club wins Squash Federation Cup
KUWAIT CITY, May 25: Salwa Al-Sabah Club (A) team clinched the Girls' Federation Cup Squash Championship after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Al-Qurain Club in the final match. Salwa Al-Sabah Club (B) secured third place, marking a historic double for the club, having already claimed the league title for the 2024–2025 season. The final was held at the late Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah Center in South Surra, the headquarters of the Squash Federation. Federation President Walid Al-Sumaie presented the championship cup to standout player Reem Al-Sawagh, joined by teammates Sarah Al-Ali and Farida Hazem. Colored medals were awarded by Al-Qurain Club President Abdulkarim Al-Shahoumi, Federation Vice President Khaled Al-Habib, Secretary General Hamed Al-Omran, and board member Adel Al-Gharib. Also present were Women's Committee Rapporteur Asma Al-Muqbil and Salwa Al-Sabah Club Treasurer Suad Sadiq. Team administrator Omaima Al-Jamal attributed the club's success to the unwavering support of Board Chairwoman Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who ensured the team had top-level technical and financial resources, including contracts with professional coaches from Pakistan and performance-based incentives for players. 'This achievement is a result of our Chairwoman's continued backing, which motivated the players to earn this honor and place the club's name firmly in the sport's golden records,' said Al-Jamal. She also expressed hope that the Kuwait Squash Federation would coordinate with the Arab Federation to launch an Arab Clubs Championship, which she believes would raise the competitive level of players and positively impact the future of the national team.

Al-Qurain clinches historic squash league title with a flawless record
KUWAIT CITY, April 26: Al-Qurain Club was crowned champion of the Kuwait Squash League for the first time in the tournament's history, achieving a flawless record without a single defeat across both divisions. Al-Yarmouk Club secured second place, while Al-Nasr Club finished third. The Squash League championships for all categories concluded last Thursday, in the presence of General Secretary of the Squash Federation Hamed Al-Omran, Board Member Ahmed Al-Adwani, Al-Qurain Club Secretary Khalifa Al-Shahoumi, and Al-Arabi Club Treasurer Fahad Al-Fahad. Al-Qurain's championship-winning squad featured players Saif Heikal, Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi, Khaled Al-Fawzan, Abdullah Hani, Shaheen Amir, Fahad Al-Ghais, and Badr Al-Maghribi. The team was coached by Tamer Raafat and managed by Mohammed Al-Jamal. In the age group competitions: Under-19: Al-Qurain claimed first place, with Khaitan second and Yarmouk third. Under-17: Khaitan secured the title, followed by Al-Qurain and Al-Arabi. Under-15: Al-Arabi emerged as champion, with Al-Qurain second and Yarmouk third. Under-13: Al-Qurain captured first place, with Khaitan second and Yarmouk third. Under-11: Khaitan took the top spot, Kuwait Club finished second, and Al-Qurain placed third.

Kuwait sports family unites for annual Ramadan Ghabga at Al-Shuhoumi Diwan
KUWAIT CITY, March 13: In a warm and festive Ramadan atmosphere, former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Honorary President of Al-Qurain Club, Ahmed Khalifa Al-Shuhoumi, alongside the Chairman of Al-Qurain Club, Abdulkarim Al-Shuhoumi, hosted the annual Ramadan Ghabga for the sports community at Al-Shuhoumi Diwan. The gathering saw the attendance of many prominent sports figures, including His Highness the former Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf, former Speaker of the National Assembly and Honorary President of Kuwait Club, Marzouq Al-Ghanim; Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nasser, former Minister of Foreign Affairs; Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah; Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah, President of the Arab Tennis Federation; Sheikh Ahmad Al-Youssef, President of the Football Association; as well as many federation and club heads, athletes—both former and current—and members of the diplomatic corps. Ahmed Al-Shuhoumi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings during Ramadan, particularly for the sports community across various disciplines. He stressed that Kuwaiti athletes deserve such recognition and support, highlighting the necessity of backing them to represent Kuwait with pride on the international stage.
