PM inspects final preparations for resuming Sana'a airport operations, receiving flights starting tomorrow, Wednesday
Sana'a - Saba: Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, accompanied by his First Deputy, Scholar Mohamed Miftah, inspected on Tuesday the final preparations for resuming operations at Sana'a International Airport and receiving civilian flights starting tomorrow, Wednesday. Al-Rahwi and Miftah, along with Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohamed Qahim, his deputy—Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology Yahya Al-Sayani, Chairman of the General Roads and Bridges Corporation Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, and Sana'a Airport Director Khaled Al-Shaif, reviewed the completed work by technical and engineering teams in preparing the departure and arrival halls, VIP lounges, the airport's main runway, and docking areas. This comes after the airport was targeted by the Israeli enemy, in addition to assessing the damage to aircraft resulting from the aggression. In a media statement, the Prime Minister confirmed that the airport is now fully ready to resume its normal functions, meeting all security and safety requirements in accordance with approved international standards. He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, represented by the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Sana'a International Airport, the General Roads Corporation, for repairing , maintaining the airport and restoring its operational readiness in such a short time. He stated, "The message of the Yemeni people to Zionist imperialism is that no matter how many facilities you destroy, we are capable of rebuilding and restoring them even better than before." Al-Rahwi affirmed that no matter the scale or type of Zionist aggression, it will not deter Yemen—its leadership, government, people—from their steadfast religious and moral stance toward their brothers in Gaza until the aggression ceases, the siege is lifted, and essential aid reaches the people of Gaza. He expressed confidence that God's promise of victory over the aggressors is inevitable. For his part, the First Deputy Prime Minister commended the efforts of technicians and engineers in maintaining and rehabilitating Sana'a Airport, which is now fully prepared to receive flights in terms of procedural, security, and technical aspects, in line with approved international standards. He expressed gratitude to all for their precision in maintaining , repairing the airport, runway, and docking areas, hoping for the resumption of flights to and from Amman Airport in brotherly Jordan after the airport's full operational readiness is restored, allowing the transport of passengers , patients to and from the airport. He added, "The government hopes to begin facilitating the departure of pilgrims to the Holy House of God through Sana'a Airport, in accordance with the approved plan and procedures." In turn, the Minister of Transport and Public Works considered the visit of the Prime Minister and his deputy to Sana'a Airport as an official announcement of the airport's reopening after restoring its readiness to receive flights. He thanked all workers from the General Authority for Civil Aviation, engineers, the Roads Corporation, and Sana'a International Airport for their efforts in repairing, maintaining, and preparing the airport in all aspects to receive flights, with the first flight expected to arrive tomorrow. Prime Minister Meets Electricity Ministry Leadership, Assesses Damage to Haziz and Dhabhan Power Stations
Sana'a - Saba: Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi met today with Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water Dr. Ali Saif, his deputy Adel Badr, and other senior officials, including the heads of the General Corporation for Electrical Industries and the Public Electricity Corporation. During the meeting, they discussed the emergency plan prepared by the ministry and its affiliated agencies to address current challenges in the electricity sector. The Prime Minister was briefed on the extent of damage caused by Israeli aggression to the central power generation stations in Dhabhan and Haziz, which were completely destroyed and rendered inoperable, as well as the damage to the Asr and Jadar substations. Despite the severe destruction, the ministry, through the Public Electricity Corporation, has taken measures to restore services and resume power supply. Al-Rahwi praised the efforts of the technical teams from the ministry and electricity corporation for their rapid response in restoring power through alternative emergency plans, despite the extensive damage inflicted by Israeli attacks. He emphasized that all damages can be repaired and compensated with strong will, particularly given the expertise and competent personnel within the ministry and electricity institutions capable of rebuilding and repairing the destruction caused by the ongoing aggression against Yemen since March 2015. During his field visit to the Dhabhan and Haziz stations, accompanied by the electricity minister, his deputy, and other officials, Al-Rahwi inspected the scale of destruction caused by Israeli targeting. In a media statement, he condemned the "Zionist enemy's criminal aggression" against Yemen and Gaza, marked by "hatred, arrogance, and brutality." He reaffirmed that Yemen—under its leadership, government, and people—will continue supporting Gaza, regardless of the repercussions, based on religious, moral, and humanitarian principles. He vowed to rebuild what the aggression has destroyed. Al-Rahwi expressed pride in the public's steadfast support for the leadership, armed forces, and government, commending the Electricity Ministry's swift restoration efforts and the role of other key sectors—health, environment, transport, public works, oil, and minerals—in mitigating the aggression's impact. Concluding his remarks, he declared: "No matter how the enemies conspire against us, we will not retreat from supporting Gaza until the aggression ends and the siege is lifted." PM launches comprehensive community cleanliness & awareness initiative in Capital Secretariat
Sana'a - Saba: Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi inaugurated today the cleanliness and community awareness initiative in the districts of the Capital Secretariat under the title "Welcome Ramadan, cleanliness is a faith commitment and civilized behavior" in implementation of the outcomes of the expanded consultative meeting to stimulate initiatives and support the cleanliness system in the Secretariat and the provinces. The Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister Allama Mohammed Muftah and the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Obad, were briefed on the work of the initiative, which was launched from Bab Al-Yemen in the old city of Sana'a, and the progress of environmental awareness for shop owners, school students and citizens on the need for concerted efforts to raise the level of cleanliness in streets and neighborhoods, remove distortions and randomness and pay attention and care for the central islands and afforestation. During his visit to Kuwait School in Safiya district, the Prime Minister urged students and their peers in schools to demonstrate cleanliness behavior in their schools, houses , neighborhoods and actively contribute to the cleanliness campaign , its success, gave them instructions on the proper handling of various wastes and the obligation to throw them in their designated places to ensure the cleanliness of the capital and various Yemeni cities. Al-Rahwi inspected the implementation of the campaign and the level of official and popular interaction in a number of neighborhoods and streets in the Capital Secretariat. In a media statement following the launch, the Prime Minister explained that as part of the campaign, guidelines will be distributed to all shops that guide everyone on how to deal with waste and not throw it on the street. Al-Rahwi pointed out that with the leadership of the Secretariat, the capital Sana'a will improve more , more in the environmental aspect and cleanliness in general, calling on citizens , the community not to throw waste or food remnants in the streets and for everyone to contribute to the cleanliness of the capital, which is his big house , everyone should work hard for its cleanliness and pride in it. For his part, First Deputy Prime Minister Allamah Muftah thanked the workers in the cleaning sector for their efforts in improving cleaning services at the level of the Secretariat and the provinces. Allama Muftah emphasized that cleanliness and public health is everyone's responsibility, and a country that is filled with waste will become a hotbed of epidemics, calling on those who are careless about cleanliness not to throw waste outside its designated places and to pay attention to the proper sorting of food, organic, plastic, glass and metal waste, noting that high-risk medical waste will be sorted in a designated place. The First Deputy Prime Minister stressed the activation of laws related to cleanliness to contribute to preserving the aesthetic and civilized appearance of the capital Sana'a and the provinces, improving the performance of waste dumps and taking certain measures to improve the cleaning process so that it becomes a daily behavior for everyone. "It is unbecoming of a human being to throw personal waste in public streets and markets, as these are scenes that harm the reputation and prestige of the Yemeni people," he said. The Capital Secretary pointed to the importance of the community initiative for cleanliness, reflecting the Revolution Leader's directives in maintaining cleanliness, implementing the outcomes of the expanded meetings to stimulate community initiatives to participate in cleanliness campaigns, and activating the role of neighborhood elders, development knights and community committees by following up on the cleanliness work and not taking it out at unspecified times. For his part, Undersecretary Khalid Al-Madani pointed out the importance of activating the role of offices, government agencies and civil society organizations in implementing broad community cleaning initiatives to raise the level of cleanliness and protect the environment, engage and enhance the role of the local community and active groups in preserving it and reducing the exacerbation of environmental issues. The Cleanliness Fund and Project directors , Mohammed Sharafuddin and Ibrahim Al-Sarabi, explained that the community cleanliness initiative, in which cleanliness workers , equipment, offices, concerned authorities , a crowd of initiatives and community components participate, seeks to form community control frameworks that effectively participate in stabilizing the environmental , service conditions, and everyone cooperates in achieving sustainable cleanliness and consolidating awareness and environmental behavior in the Secretariat. In addition, cleanliness and community awareness initiatives were launched in the streets and neighborhoods according to the work plan, with the participation of the heads of the social affairs, planning, development and services committees in the Secretariat of the Capital Secretariat, undersecretaries, local and executive leaders, environmental awareness teams, a crowd of initiatives and community committees, development and mobilization knights, neighborhood elders, social figures and citizens.
