Al Hamriyah Municipality holds health awareness exhibition

The exhibition took place at the Al Hamriyah Club as part of the Sharjah Sports Summer activities under the theme "Our Holiday is Different," in cooperation with the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and the Sharjah Sports Council . The Public Health Department organized an engaging exhibition that showcased models of common insects and pests, along with easy-to-understand displays explaining their life cycles and how to control them. Attendees also had the chance to see the tools and safety equipment used in pest control . Mohammed Sultan bin Hareb Al Muhairi, the head of the Public Health Department, played a key role in organizing the event alongside his team members, Nizar Haider and Al-Tahami Ahmed. The goal was to enhance the understanding of public health issues related to pests among participants from the Hamriyah Summer Forum, regardless of their age . According to Al Muhairi, the exhibition aimed to introduce summer program participants to different types of pests, ways to prevent them, and how to minimize their presence. Pest control specialists also gave a clear presentation on the various insect species and shared eco-friendly pest control methods . The event included interactive activities and Q&A sessions to keep attendees engaged and help reinforce their learning. By the end of the exhibition, students were selected to join the 'Little Intellectual' program, which is designed to nurture a health-conscious generation that will contribute to future community awareness initiatives . Al Muhairi also highlighted that the exhibition featured workshops led by experts from the Public Health Department and a 3D display of different public health pests to inform participants about their dangers. Overall, the event aimed to educate the community about avoiding pests and understanding the municipality's comprehensive pest-control programs . This exhibition was a significant part of Al Hamriyah Municipality's involvement in the summer activities, where all 150 participants from various age groups interacted with the displays, asked questions, and learned about innovative pest control solutions .

His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, affirmed that the municipality's participation in the "Our Holiday is Different" programme to manage summer activities at Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to support generations and enhance the role of government institutions in serving the community. Youth welfare Al Shamsi noted that the municipality places youth welfare and building a stimulating educational and recreational environment among its strategic priorities for the Year of Community. This came during Al Shamsi's inspection visit, which took place on Thursday to the summer programme activities held at Al Hamriyah Club under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC). Closing and honouring Al Shamsi reviewed the results of the municipality's participation in the programme and witnessed part of the closing ceremony of the fourth week, which included a review of the most prominent activities, and distinguished participants were honoured amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and strong parental engagement. Al Hamriyah Municipality support Al Shamsi emphasised that Al Hamriyah Municipality, as a strategic partner of Al Hamriyah Club, is actively contributing to the programme's implementation by providing logistical, technical, and organisational support, and by participating with specialised teams from various departments, including engineering, agriculture, public health, information technology, corporate communications, and innovation. This is part of an integrated summer plan that includes seven unique events, specialised workshops, and interactive lectures that contribute to honing the skills of children and adolescents and promoting the values of citizenship and belonging. The municipality's social responsibility Al Shamsi pointed out that this participation represents a practical translation of the municipality's social responsibility and its commitment to being present in the fields of positive upbringing and contributing to creating a balanced environment that combines fun and knowledge, contributing to building an aware, empowered, and creative generation. Appreciation At the end of his visit, Al Shamsi commended the efforts of Al Hamriyah Club and Sharjah Sports Council, commending the organisational level and purposeful content provided in the programme. Promoting environmental values As part of its commitment to supporting young people and promoting environmental values among new generations, Al Hamriyah Municipality continues its active participation in the Sharjah Sports Summer 2025 - Our Holiday is Different activities. This workshop is organised in cooperation with the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), within a comprehensive vision that combines education, entertainment, and creativity. The workshop, held on Tuesday amidst an enthusiastic atmosphere and remarkable interaction, offered participants a unique experience in designing and crafting masks inspired by famous cartoon characters using recycled materials, promoting environmental awareness and reuse in their daily lives. The diverse activities contributed to developing the participants' aesthetic sense and artistic imagination in a simple yet purposeful manner. The workshop was led by Sheikha Jamal Al Shamsi and Maryam Humaid Al Shamsi, from the Corporate Communications Department at Al Hamriyah Municipality. They presented a pioneering model of positive interaction with children, presenting the workshop using an educational methodology that blends interactive learning with creative play, a process that was greatly appreciated by the participants and their parents. He noted that this workshop represents one of the fundamental building blocks in building an educated, aware, and environmentally friendly generation. Creative Awareness Activities The workshop was led by a team from the municipality's Public Relations Department, including Asma Al Muhairi, Sheikha Al Shamsi, and Reem Al Muhairi. From heritage to creativity The workshop offered children the opportunity to be creative and express their ideas by designing their own Ramadan lanterns. The workshop, which was held, on Sunday, after Tarawih prayers, saw great interaction with children visiting the village. Participants were provided with a variety of specialised tools, such as cardboard, paints, and decorative ribbons, to introduce them to the basics of design, decoration, and handicrafts. It also provided them with the opportunity to experiment with different manual lantern-making techniques, which contributed to stimulating their manual skills and enhancing their skills in innovation and creativity. Sheikha Jamal Al Shamsi, from the Corporate Communications Department at Al Hamriyah Municipality, emphasised that the workshop was not limited to crafts alone; rather, it sought to develop the children's intellectual and creative abilities, in addition to instilling the concept of teamwork among them, which enhances their sense of accomplishment and self-confidence.
