Al Hamriyah Municipality organises "Make Your Lantern" Workshop
From heritage to creativity The workshop offered children the opportunity to be creative and express their ideas by designing their own Ramadan lanterns. The workshop, which was held, on Sunday, after Tarawih prayers, saw great interaction with children visiting the village. Participants were provided with a variety of specialised tools, such as cardboard, paints, and decorative ribbons, to introduce them to the basics of design, decoration, and handicrafts. It also provided them with the opportunity to experiment with different manual lantern-making techniques, which contributed to stimulating their manual skills and enhancing their skills in innovation and creativity. Sheikha Jamal Al Shamsi, from the Corporate Communications Department at Al Hamriyah Municipality, emphasised that the workshop was not limited to crafts alone; rather, it sought to develop the children's intellectual and creative abilities, in addition to instilling the concept of teamwork among them, which enhances their sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. It also connected them to Ramadan customs in a fun, educational, and simple way. Supporting community initiatives His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, explained that the municipality's participation in the Ramadan Village stems from its commitment to supporting community initiatives aimed at strengthening social cohesion and providing a recreational and educational environment for children. Al Shamsi noted that the workshop provided a unique opportunity for children to develop their handicraft skills and learn about the importance of the lantern as a heritage symbol during the holy month. His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi added that the municipality's participation in the Ramadan Village is part of its strategy to enhance community work and institutional cooperation with various entities, most notably the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, given the role these partnerships play in achieving sustainable community development. Consolidating national identy Al Shamsi emphasised that such activities contribute to consolidating national identity and strengthening intergenerational bonds, providing children with a creative environment that teaches them the values of teamwork, enhances their sense of responsibility, and instills a spirit of joy and happiness in their souls during the holy month.

3rd Al Hamriyah Ramadan Football Tournament Kicks Off
The tournament is organised by Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, as part of its Ramadan activities programme. Eight participating teams Eight teams representing government departments and entities in Al Hamriyah and the region's residents are participating in the tournament, namely, Al Hamriyah (A) and (B), Al Hamriyah Municipality (A) and (B), Sharjah Asset Management and Al Hamriyah Suburb, in addition to Al Nakhal District and Al Hamriyah Youth. The participating teams were divided into two groups, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the semi-finals. Prizes will be awarded to the champion, runner-up, and third-place winners. Fierce competition Mr. Issa bin Rukn, member of the club's board of directors and head of the Cultural and Community Committee, confirmed that the opening day of the tournament saw intense competition between the participating teams, characterised by high sportsmanship, amidst a large crowd. Mr. Issa bin Rukn pointed out that matches will be held daily until March 20, which will witness the tournament's finale, with the winners being crowned with cash prizes totaling approximately AED 20,000.

Al Hamriyah Club's participation in Sharjah Heritage Days
An interactive experience for visitors Al Hamriyah Club participated in the event from February 17–20, establishing a dedicated pavilion that enabled visitors to engage in their favourite sports, such as football, basketball, and cycling. The club organised a variety of activities and competitions, providing prizes for the winners. Showcasing the club's history and achievements The club's pavilion displayed a series of photographs that connected its history with the present, highlighting its evolution from inception to its most significant accomplishments. This exhibition drew a significant crowd of attendees. Commitment to heritage and cultural identity Issa bin Rukun, a board member of Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and chairman of the Cultural and Community Committee, highlighted the club's dedication to engaging in Sharjah Heritage Days. He expressed that this involvement showcases the club's commitment to safeguarding Emirati heritage and enhancing cultural identity for generations to come.
