Sharjah hosts 'Ocean Man' Open Water Swimming Championship
Speaking to 'Sharjah 24', Al Jasmi shared details of the championship, which reflects Sharjah's commitment to hosting world-class sports events and strengthening its position on the global athletics map. The event features broad participation across all age brackets over the two-day competition. Five Main Races Over Two Days Al Jasmi explained that the event includes five main races spread over the weekend. On Sunday, elite swimmers will compete in a 10 km race, while intermediate-level athletes will tackle a 5 km swim. On Saturday, swimmers can take part in a 2 km speed challenge, and teams will compete in a 3 x 500 m relay, designed to promote team spirit. 500 m Children's Race A special 500-metre race for children aged 7 to 14 is also scheduled, aiming to foster a love for sports and encourage healthy, active lifestyles in a fun and safe competitive environment. Full-Service Field Hospital Near Race Site Al Jasmi emphasised that safety is a top priority. A fully equipped field hospital has been set up near the race area, alongside trained marine rescue and ambulance teams, to ensure the highest standards of safety for participants of all ages. Global Sporting Events a Key Focus He concluded by affirming the Sharjah Government Media Bureau's continued commitment to supporting and attracting international sports events that align with the Emirate's vision of promoting sports as a lifestyle and fostering a culture of positive competition and community engagement.

The impact of Sharjah Theatre Days on artistic success Al Jasmi explained that all the successes of artists, directors, and theatre workers are closely linked to the Sharjah Theatre Days. He emphasised that it is the event that has produced so much brilliance and many creative talents in the country's artistic scene. The meaning of the award The artist shared with 'Sharjah 24' that the award holds significant meaning for him, comparing it to his first time standing on stage. He added, 'No matter how old you are, when you work sincerely for the theatre, the award comes to you.' Al Jasmi noted that during the 34-day sessions, he had received numerous awards, both personally and through the Sharjah National Theatre Troupe. However, the greatest honour, he said, was receiving the award from His Highness Sheikh DrSultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
