Sharjah Police unveil Eid Al Adha security and traffic plan
Brigadier General Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director-General of Operations and Security Support, noted that the strategy consists of numerous proactive and preventive steps. These include increased security and traffic patrols around mosques and prayer grounds, improved monitoring of main and secondary roads via the central operations room to ensure smooth traffic flow, and the deployment of dedicated teams to deal with emergencies or any negative behaviour that may disrupt the holiday atmosphere.
He stated that, to protect children and the community, field inspections will be increased to prevent the spread of fireworks, lowering the number of incidents and injuries usually associated with such products during holidays and celebrations.
These actions are part of a larger strategy aimed at protecting the community and ensuring public safety and property during Eid. Brig. Gen. Al Naour underlined the necessity of public collaboration and respect for safety requirements, which are critical to the overall effectiveness of the security operation.
He further reiterated that these precautions will be in effect during the Eid Al Adha holidays and advised the public to report any suspicious conduct or emergencies to the 24-hour hotlines: 999 for emergencies and 901 for non-emergencies. He encouraged the population to enjoy Sharjah's natural and tourist assets while maintaining a safe and stable environment for everyone.
