Al-Nassr unveils new crest to mark club's 70th anniversary
RIYADH: Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr on Monday unveiled a new official crest, which club officials said is part of a refreshed visual identity in celebration of the team's 70th anniversary. A message posted by the team's official account on social media platform X included a video showcasing the new design with the caption: 'A great legacy and history, and a promising future. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary, here is the Al-Nassr logo.' From Saudi Arabia, To the whole world, This is where it all began, Happy 69th anniversary AlNassr — AlNassr FC (@AlNassrFC_EN) October 24, 2024 The redesign features several notable changes, the most obvious of which is the removal of the crown that previously sat atop the crest. The name of the team in English is now stated simply as 'Nassr,' the prefix 'Al-' used in previous iterations now dropped. 'Riyadh' has been added at the bottom of the logo, referencing the club's home city, along with the year in which the team was founded: 1955. The map of the Arabian Peninsula at the center of the crest remains. The most recent significant update prior to this came on Oct. 15, 2020, when a laurel wreath around the sides of the crest and a yellow ribbon at the bottom were removed. Al-Nassr was founded on Oct. 24, 1955, and grew to become one of the most prominent clubs in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. With two matches left to play in the league this season, they sit in fourth place, 13 points behind confirmed champions Al-Ittihad.

Cristiano Ronaldo is Now a Fighting Game Character
Players will be able to play with the Al Nassr FC star in 'Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves' starting April 24th. Mar 27, 2025 Ballon d'Or winning football titan Cristiano Ronaldo is now a playable character in SNK's newest 2D fighting game, 'Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves'. Players will be able to play as the Portuguese Al Nassr FC star starting April 24th. SNK revealed Ronaldo's inclusion with a new gameplay trailer, in which Ronaldo demonstrates an impressive series of kicks, the ability to shift stances and hit his opponents with a football, and of course, a finishing move that closely resembles his signature 'SIU' celebration. 'Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves' will be among the games included in this year's Esports World Cup in Riyadh. In April 2022, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) acquired a 96% stake in Japanese game developer SNK. Since then, SNK's properties - particularly the long-running 'King of Fighters' franchise - has seen a mainstream resurgence, such as with the inclusion of its characters as guest stars in Capcom's 'Street Fighter VI'. Recently, the PIF has a 4.19% stake in Nintendo, a 6.6% stake in Capcom, and acquired Pokemon Go developers Niantic for USD 3.5 billion. The only question left is - what will Ronaldo's matchups look like? Will he surely be top tier?

Video: Cristiano Ronaldo shows Shara Magomedov support before UFC Saudi Arabia
Shara Magomedov has one of the biggest superstars on the planet on his side for his UFC return this Saturday. The rising middleweight contender met with Cristiano Ronaldo, ex-Real Madrid star and current AlNassr FC player, ahead of his co-main event clash with Michael Page at UFC Fight Night 250 (ESPN+), which takes place at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was a special moment for Magomedov as he used to look up to Ronaldo when he was younger, but what made the experience was Ronaldo's support. 'I met the entire team, and I also met Cristiano Ronaldo, and we talked for about a half hour,' Magomedov said at Wednesday's UFC Fight Night 250 media day. 'He knows a lot about the UFC, and I can tell he's very well versed in the sport. He said he's going to be coming to the fight and rooting for me. He said I have a lot of potential in the sport and that I'm eventually going to be champion.'
