Bahrain a Global Model of Cultural Dialogue and Tolerance, Says Shura Council Chairman

His Excellency Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to spearhead impactful initiatives aimed at fostering closer ties between nations and peoples, and promoting dialogue among cultures. These efforts, he said, reflect the Kingdom's deep-rooted commitment to global peace and sustainable development, in line with the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Al Saleh expressed pride in Bahrain's distinguished international standing in promoting the values of coexistence and human tolerance. He attributed this achievement to the wise royal approach of His Majesty the King, whose unwavering efforts to enhance dialogue, tolerance, and global partnerships have contributed significantly to development goals and aspirations worldwide. The Shura Council Chairman also commended the dedicated efforts of the Bahraini government in advancing humanitarian values and implementing programs that foster cultural and intellectual diversity. He praised the continuous support and leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for sustaining Bahrain's national achievements and driving progress across all sectors. Marking the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, observed annually on May 21, Al Saleh said Bahrain serves as an exceptional model of embracing and respecting diverse cultures. This, he noted, stems from the Kingdom's deep-rooted national values and a socially cohesive society, as well as the principles enshrined in the National Action Charter and the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which lay a strong foundation for sustainable development and progress. He further emphasized Bahrain's rich cultural and civilizational heritage, and its continued commitment to supporting cultural diversity and human fraternity. The Kingdom, he added, remains steadfast in strengthening international partnerships to advance human development and realize the shared aspirations of all peoples.

ABYAN, May 07 (YPA) – Armed tribesmen blocked the main road linking Aden and Shabwa in Maudiyah district, east of Abyan governorate, in response to the kidnapping of two members of the Al Saleh tribe by Emirati factions. The Al Saleh tribe in Maudiyah sent dozens of its armed members yesterday, to block the main road in the Amdhraa area, west of the district, in protest against the kidnapping of two of its recruits in the Giants Brigades by Emirati factions in the center of Ataq, the center of Shabwa. Sheikhs and dignitaries of the Al Saleh tribe demanded the release of their recruits, who were later transferred to a secret prison in Marra camp, west of Ataq. Transitional Council factions in Abyan headed to the Amdhraa area of ​​Maudiyah to end the road blockade amid tensions in the region.

Dubai Finance (DOF) has unveiled ASCEND (AI-Assisted System for Compliance Verification and Recommendations), the world's first AI-powered compliance verification platform for public finance, at the inaugural Dubai AI Week. Announced by Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director General of DOF, ASCEND is a central pillar of the department's AI strategy, aimed at boosting operational efficiency and enhancing financial governance. 'By embedding AI into our governance model, we are reinforcing accountability and agility while advancing Dubai's global leadership in digital government,' Al Saleh said. ASCEND tackles key compliance challenges like fragmented data and manual reviews by introducing autonomous, real-time assessments. According to Huda Hamdan Al Shaikh, Executive Director of the Corporate Services Sector and CEO of AI at DOF, the platform replaces traditional processes with AI-led governance. Powered by open-source large language models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), ASCEND interprets legal texts, analyzes financial procedures, and performs compliance checks. It conducts risk detection, gap analysis, KPI mapping against legal frameworks, and generates structured, bilingual reports. Fatma Buti Alsuwaidi, Director of Strategy and Corporate Performance, noted ASCEND's ability to offer actionable recommendations and ensure regulatory alignment of KPIs. Hosted on UAE-based cloud infrastructure, ASCEND adheres to national Information Security Regulation standards, maintaining full data sovereignty.
