Al Shamal sign up Egyptian footballer Akram Tawfiq
Tribune News Network Doha Al Shamal unveiled their latest signing - Egyptian football player Akram Tawfiq - at an event on Saturday. The 27-year-old Tawfiq said, 'I feel very happy with my decision to sign with Al Shamal Club, especially after the distinguished reception I received from the club's officials. I hope to be up to the responsibility and fulfill the aspirations of the club's fans, who are expecting a lot from the team next season.' He added: 'I am excited about my next stop with Al Shamal Club and I have great motivation. I look forward to contributing to the achievements of this great club, which has a very professional and distinguished management that has great ambitions to raise the club's profile, fulfill the aspirations of its fans, and take the position the club deserves.' Regarding the timing of his decision to leave Al Ahly club, a few days before Al Ahly participated in the Club World Cup, Akram said: 'I have previously played in the Club World Cup four times, and I believe that my decision at this time is correct from my point of view. 'I wish Al Ahly all success at the upcoming Club World Cup.' Al Arabi sign goalkeeper Hassan from Al Gharafa Meanwhile, Al Arabi announced the signing of goalkeeper Youssef Hassan from Al Gharafa. The club said it has also renewed contracts of goalkeepers Jassim Al Hail until 2026 and Mohammed Saeed until 2027.

QFA Awards honours football excellence in Qatar
The QFA Awards 2025 took place on 26 May 2025, celebrating key individuals and fans who have significantly enhanced the football landscape in Qatar. Akram Afif, a standout player for Al-Sadd Club, received the Best Player Award for the 2024/2025 season, marking his second consecutive win and the fifth in his career. Félix Sánchez, head coach of Al-Sadd Club, was honored with the Best Coach Award for the 2024/2025 season. Meshaal Barsham, goalkeeper for Al-Sadd Club, won the Best Goalkeeper Award in its inaugural edition for the 2024/2025 season. Mohammed Manaai, a prominent player for Al Shamal Club, earned the Best U-23 Player Award for the 2024/2025 season. Roger Guedes, a star player of Al Rayyan Club, claimed the 'Mansour Muftah Top Scorer Award' for the 2024/2025 season, netting a total of 21 goals.
