Haidan wins overall Al Shaqab Champions title
Tribune News Network Doha Mohammed Saeed Haidan clinched the overall Al Shaqab Champions (130–140cm) title as the Al Shaqab National Show Jumping League concluded in thrilling fashion on Saturday. Riding Viahipi d'Auzay, Haidan secured second place in the third and final round, but it boosted his total to 105 points to claim top honours at Al Shaqab's Longines Indoor Arena. Thorsten Wittenberg finished second overall after placing third in the final round aboard Casallino 12. Khaled Aleid, who won the concluding round on Q Sahel, secured third place overall with a total of 94 points. In the Youth Champions (125–135cm) category, Abdulaziz Fahad Aleid claimed the overall title with 101 points. Khalid Al Hadi followed with 95 points, while Saad Ahmed Al Saad finished third with 91 points. Meanwhile, Haya Khalid Al Hitmi was crowned Junior Champion (115–125cm), earning 97 points to edge out Ibrahim Khalid Al Kuwari by just two points. Fahad Jassim Al Thani secured third place with 93 points. Al Kuwari, riding Just In Time, won the final round yesterday. Haya, aboard Murdoc, finished second, while Al Thani claimed third place on Hazel de Luxe. In the Amateur Class (90–100cm), Mohammed Salem Al Naemi topped the standings with 77 points to be named overall champion. Joud Bassam El Aker (74 points) and Ali Abdulla Al Muhannadi (70 points) rounded out the podium. Mohammed Faisal Al Marri emerged as the Future Champions (105–115cm) winner, amassing 98 points. Ahmed Ali Jaber took second place with 87 points, while Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani placed third with 86 points. In the team competition, Al Adeed secured top spot in the league standings, followed by Farhoud and Faraa. Earlier, in the first event of the final day, Nasser Hamad Al Thani riding Coco Chanel SB delivered a flawless performance to win the Introductory Class 2 (60cm) with a time of 60.92 seconds. Salha Khalid Obaidli aboard Tinkerbell closely followed, finishing second in 61.12 seconds, while Meshael Mohammed Al Thani on Lancome Paris secured third place. Alanoud Rashid Al Shahwani (Moreade Fee B), Asmaa Ahmad Al Sulaiti (Tinkerbell), and Fahad Mohammed Al Sulaiti (Chapuisat) completed the top six.

Khalid Al Suwaidi tops Future Champions' class
Tribune News Network Doha Khalid Jassim Al Suwaidi delivered a flawless performance aboard Isis du Genet to win the Future Champions 105/110cm class, stealing the spotlight on the opening day of the third and final round of the Al Shaqab National Showjumping League on Thursday. Competing at Al Shaqab's Longines Indoor Arena, Al Suwaidi impressed in the jump-off, clocking 26.36 seconds to secure first place. Mohammed Hamza Al Kuwari, riding Carte Blanche, followed with a time of 29.17 seconds to take second. Al Shaqab League Event Director Khalid Al Nuami honoured the podium winners. Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani, on Monopoly, posted a competitive 26.53 seconds in the jump-off to claim third place. Faisal Mohammed Al Naimi (riding Dilandra), Mohammed Faisal Al Marri (Dusty), and Yousuf Abdulrahman Al Muftah (Senna Lafont) rounded out the top six in the event. Meanwhile, Alya Hamad Jassim Al Thani partnered with Geale to claim victory in the Intro 80cm class, delivering a flawless round in 53.02 seconds. Just behind her, Melina Karagiannidi and Cascade Sammy secured second place with a near-identical time of 53.04 seconds. Adel Abdel Raziq completed the podium after an impressive ride on Phoenix. Raziq was followed by Salman Faisal Al Marri, Maryam Ahmed Mohamood Erbad and Jassim Saoud Al Fakhroo, rounding out the top six. Al Shaqab League Manager Khalid Al Nuami presented the awards to the leading riders. Earlier in the day, Tamim Misfer Alqahtani, riding Carnelian, triumphed in the Intro 40cm class with a clean round in 48.77 seconds. Aisha Sultan Al Enazi, aboard Tinkerbell, took second with a time of 49.97 seconds, while Maryam Abdulazeem Al Abdulwahab on Pedro finished third. Mohammed Ahmad Al Sulaiti, Ameena Hassan Al Thawadi, and Noora Yousif Al Kuwari completed the top six standings. Legacy and Heritage Specialist Commercial at Al Shaqab Ahmed Khaled Al Hemaidi honoured the riders during the prize ceremony. On Friday, the second day's action will feature the Amateur Class (90/100cm) and Youth Champions (125/130cm) Shaqab Showjumping League

Al Shaqab Showjumping League to resume this week
Tribune News Network Doha Al Shaqab is set to resume the Al Shaqab National Show Jumping League, with the competition returning this month through three consecutive weeks of thrilling rounds. The events will bring together a distinguished group of experienced and emerging male and female riders, all competing at the world-class Longines Arena at Al Shaqab on the following dates: May 16–17, May 23–24, and May 30–31, 2025. Aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, Al Shaqab continues its pioneering role in advancing sports and promoting a culture of excellence and innovation in equestrianism through the launch of a new edition of its national show jumping league. Over the past seasons, the league has served as a strategic platform to nurture talent and refine riders' skills. It has set new benchmarks in the sport of show jumping and has become a defining milestone for many up-and-coming riders as they progress to international competition. The Al Shaqab League offers a valuable opportunity for riders of various skill levels, acting as a launchpad for those aiming to compete on the world stage. With rounds filled with fierce competition, continuous training, and a world-class event experience, Al Shaqab consistently proves its ability to develop riders into champions recognized globally.
