DHL Express UAE and Advanced Media partner to drive green logistics and reduce carbon emissions with DHL GoGreen Plus service
Dubai, UAE – In a strategic move toward sustainability, Advanced Media, a leading provider of cutting-edge media solutions in the Middle East, has partnered with DHL Express UAE, the global leader in international express logistics, to reduce logistics carbon emission through DHL GoGreen Plus solutions. This initiative aligns with Advanced Media's commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices. The agreement was officially signed at Advanced Media's Dubai headquarters, with Jawad Ouaziz, VP Commercial of DHL Express UAE, and Alaa Al Rantisi, General Manager of Advanced Media, commemorating the beginning of this impactful collaboration. As part of this partnership, Advanced Media will leverage DHL's GoGreen Plus service, which enables businesses to reduce their carbon footprint by using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for shipments. Jawad Ouaziz, VP Commercial of DHL Express UAE, emphasized the significance of the collaboration: 'This partnership exemplifies how innovative logistics solutions can contribute to a more sustainable future. With DHL's GoGreen Plus service, we are empowering Advanced Media to actively reduce its carbon footprint and set a benchmark for sustainability in the media industry.' Alaa Al Rantisi, General Manager of Advanced Media, added: 'Our partnership with DHL's GoGreen Plus is another important milestone towards Advanced Media's commitments to carbon reduction and climate action. We hope that this marks the beginning of our sustainable journey together and we serve as an example to other SMEs in the region as well.' Launched in 2022, DHL's GoGreen Plus service has become an industry-leading solution that leverages SAF to reduce Scope 3 emissions, the indirect greenhouse gas emissions that occur in the value chain. The program operates on the carbon in setting principle rather than offsetting, with results audited by an independent third-party, ensuring transparency and accountability. As part of this agreement, Advanced Media will receive an SGS certificate confirming the emissions reductions achieved through the initiative. DHL's commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 is further reinforced by its broader sustainability efforts, which include the electrification of its delivery fleet, the expansion of SAF use across its aviation network, and the operation of carbon-neutral facilities. The agreement between Advanced Media and DHL Express UAE represents a milestone in sustainable logistics and media, reinforcing the UAE's vision for a greener, more environmentally responsible future.

Advanced Media sets benchmark for sustainability in media retail sector
Advanced Media Trading (AMT), a distributor of professional video, photo, broadcast, and cinema equipment across the MENA region, has received verification for its near-term science-based emissions reduction target from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). AMT is setting a high standard for sustainability in the media retail industry. The approval by SBTi establishes AMT as the only media retailer in the world to have achieved this milestone. The SBTi, a global climate action organisation, supports companies in reducing their carbon footprint. AMT has pledged to cut its scope 1 and scope 2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 42% by 2030, using 2021 as the baseline, while also committing to measure its scope 3 emissions. Sustainability initiatives are integrated into AMT's operations. Since joining the UAE Alliance for Climate Action (UACA) in 2023, AMT has taken decisive steps towards fleet electrification, converting 20% of its vehicles to electric in 2024. The company aims for full electrification by 2030. AMT has also made significant strides in waste management, cutting its solid waste landfilled GHG emissions by 25% since 2021. Collaborations with waste management firms have enabled extensive recycling of plastic, paper and steel, along with food composting. Additionally, a near-total ban on plastic bottles and bags, in line with federal mandates, has reinforced the company's sustainability efforts. In recognition of its environmental and social governance (ESG) efforts, AMT has been awarded the Dubai Chamber of Commerce ESG Label and has earned a Committed Badge from the EcoVadis assessment, further solidifying its leadership in corporate sustainability. Speaking about the achievement, Alaa Al Rantisi, Co-founder and Managing Director, AMT, said: 'We recognise our social and moral responsibility in reducing our environmental footprint and achieving Net-Zero by 2050 as a UAE-based company. Advanced Media will continue to initiate and activate programmes and partnerships that raise awareness, highlight environmental and social concerns, and provide lasting solutions. It is always our mission to lead by example.' Parnian Farnam, Head of CSR, added: 'We produced and published a comprehensive GHG emissions inventory report attributed to our operations within the UAE from 2021 to 2024. We relied on the UACA's eMission platform to compute and calculate the data. AMT has been a proud member of UACA and an active voice for the SMEs in the UAE. These verifications and certifications assure us that we are on the right track.' Strengthening its sustainability agenda, AMT has partnered with DHL Express to reduce carbon emissions through DHL's GoGreen Plus service. This initiative leverages Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to cut AMT's aviation-related emissions by 30%, replacing traditional jet fuel with a renewable alternative and accelerating the company's progress toward net-zero goals.
