UEFA Hands Montenegrin Club AK Arsenal Tivat 10-Year Ban
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has slapped a €500,000 fine and a ten-year ban on Montenegrin club AK Arsenal Tivat over match-fixing. The club will not be able to participate in any competitions governed by UEFA until the 2034-35 season, including Champions League, Europa League and Conference League. UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body CEDB took this decision following an investigation into charges related to match-fixing during the team's Conference League game against Armenian club Alashkert in 2023. Arsenal Tivat drew against Alashkert 1-1 in the first round before they faced a heavy loss of 6-1 in the second leg. UEFA stated that they will ask FIFA, world football's governing body, FIFA, to increase the ban to be applied in global competitions. Arsenal Tivat player Nikola Celebic and official Ranko Krgovic also were banned for life and two other players were suspended for 10 years. Tags: Arsenal TivatFootballUEFA

Arsenal Tivat banned from UEFA competitions for 10 years in match-fixing case
UEFA banned Montenegrin football club Arsenal Tivat for 10 years from European competitions on Wednesday in a match-fixing case and also banned a player and club official for life. The games in question were from the Europa Conference League qualifying round in July 2023 against Armenian club Alashkert. Arsenal Tivat drew the first leg 1-1 in Armenia before losing 6-1 at home in the return, including conceding two goals in stoppage time at the end of the game. UEFA did not specify how the integrity of the games was compromised, nor give details of gambling operations in the case. UEFA said Arsenal Tivat is banned up to and including the 2034-35 season and was fined 500,000 euros (USD 578,000). Sporting director Ranko Krgovic and player Nikola Čelebić were banned for life while three more players were banned by UEFA for 10 years: Cetko Manojlovic, Dusan Puletic, Radule Zivkovic. UEFA also banned two officials from the Radnicki Obrenovac club of Serbia: Milan Vignjevic for 10 years and Goran Janjusevic for six. Another person, Christos Psomiadis, was banned for eight years FIFA will be asked to extend the bans to apply globally, UEFA said. The 10-year ban for fixing games matched the punishment UEFA gave Skenderbeu of Albania in 2017. That investigation involved a Champions League qualifying game and Europa League group-stage games. UEFA banned Pobeda of Macedonia for eight years in 2009 for fixing Champions League qualifying games five years earlier. Related Topics UEFA

UEFA give club 10-year ban as player banned FOR LIFE for match fixing
Montenegro outfit FK Arsenal Tivat have been banned for 10 years, with one player and one staff member banned for life following a UEFA investigation into match fixing UEFA have handed a 10-year ban to Montenegro outfit FK Arsenal Tivat and given them a £434,000 fine over integrity issues and match-fixing allegations during a Conference League match. The club will not be allowed to compete in any UEFA-governed tournament - including the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League - until the 2034-35 season at the very earliest. A number of players and staff members have also been slapped with bans after the investigation. Defender Nikola Celebic and director Ranko Krgovic have both been given life-long bans from all football-related activities and have requested that FIFA extend the ban worldwide. Captain Cetko Manojlovic has received a ten-year ban, along with defender Radule Zivkovic, goalkeeper Dusan Puletic and official Milan Vignjevic. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Christos Psomiadis has been hit with an eight-year ban and club official Goran Janjusevic has been banned for six years. UEFA said it had made its decisions "following an investigation and disciplinary proceedings against FK Arsenal Tivat and other individuals in relation to alleged violations of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR) during the 2023/24 UEFA Conference League matches between Alashkert FC and FK Arsenal Tivat in July 2023". FK Arsenal Tivat and Armenian side Alashkert played each other in a two legged first qualifying round of the 2023-24 Conference League. The two teams drew the first game 1-1 in Armenia on July 13 after Julian Montenegro's first half strike was cancelled out by Vitali Ustinov. But a week later there was a vastly different scoreline as Alashkert romped to a 6-1 thrashing of Tivat, sealing a 7-2 aggregate win. Agdon Menezes had scored a hat-trick to give Alashkert the advantage, before Boban Dordevic pulled one back to make it 3-1 on the night. Yeison Bossa Racines then made it four before Serob Grigoryan and Annan Mensah made it a demolition job with a strike each in stoppage time.
