Aldi Fans ‘Need' This Summer Find: ‘Couldn't Agree More'

Part of the fun of shopping at Aldi is that you never know what treasures you'll find in the novelty section, from clothing to home decor to giant floating sticks of butter. Yes, you read that correctly, as the grocery chain has rolled out a collection of pool noodles inspired by popular food items. The BigMouth inflatable pool noodles come in two designs in the Aldi Finds aisle, a sub sandwich and a stick of salted butter, and it seems like the latter has really gotten the attention of Aldi fans after the chain posted a photo of the novelty find, calling it "summer's hottest accessory." "I don't have a pool but I need this," said one fan on Instagram as others agreed, calling the $9.99 pool toy a "brilliant" item and teasingly asking "Do you have it in unsalted?" "All I need now is the pool," declared a third, while another couldn't tell if it was a prank, asking, "Chat is this real." More jokes rolled in, with fans asking, "Is this not a buttered noodle?" and declaring that they "can't believe it's not butter." "Paula Dean has entered the chat," teased another commenter, referencing the cooking personality known for her love of butter. Land O'Lakes got in on the action as well, dropping into the comments to say, "We couldn't agree more, this is the hottest accessory." If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission. It's almost officially sandal season! If you look at your collection of summer footwear and notice that they're looking a little sad, Aldi's upcoming Aldi Finds drop might have something for you. They're releasing casual sandals that look just like Tevas, but are a fraction of the price. From May 21 to May 27, Aldi will be selling Crane Casual Sandals for just $9.99 at local U.S. stores while supplies last. They come in three colors (more on that later), all in the same style: a foam sole with adjustable, velcro straps that go around the toes and ankle. These straps are connected by another strap in the same material. Related: Again, these come in three colors. The first is multi, which has a black footbed and sole, and a different color strap on each part of the foot. The toes and behind the ankle have a beige strap, the front of the ankles have a blue strap and the strap connecting them is light pink. View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article Then there's the tan style, which has a tan or beige footbed and sole, and light brown straps that are all the same color. Lastly, there are the white sandals, which have a black footbed and sole, and straps with a white background and a triangular pattern with gray and black mixed in there. Related: If these Aldi sandals look very familiar, it's because they are nearly identical to Tevas. Specifically, the pale or muted colors in the 'multi' style are similar to those in the Eucalyptus/Peach Bloom Women's Hurricane XLT2 Sandals. These currently cost $80, and they have a similar color scheme; black footbed and multiple-colored straps with a similar blue, pink and khaki/beige. Then there's the iconic style everyone knows and loves: the Women's Original Universal Sandals, which are $60. There are a few colors available in this beloved style that kind of resemble the ones at Aldi, including the Sirena Black/White pattern, which has a similar vibe to the white style at Aldi. These are closer to the Crane Casual Sandals because of the basic, flat footbed and adjustable straps. So if you've had your eyes on Tevas, but never took the leap because of the price, Aldi's casual sandals are worth checking Next:

I've worked at Aldi for years. Here are my 7 best tips for buying groceries there on a budget.

As an Aldi employee, I have tips for making my money go further when shopping at the grocery chain. I rarely buy name-brand products at Aldi, and I only get produce for dishes I'm making soon. In my opinion, Aldi is a great place to buy packages of meat in bulk to portion out and freeze. I've worked at Aldi for over four years, so I've learned a few tips and tricks for stretching my dollar when I shop at the chain. Here are a few things I suggest shoppers try if they're looking to save money on groceries on their next Aldi trip. Assess your eating and cooking habits before each shopping trip. Many people shop in an aspirational manner, especially if they're new families building a grocery routine or trying to shift their diet in a big way. But instead of filling your cart with fresh produce you swear you'll use up, be realistic about your schedule and eating habits. You won't save money by purchasing food you're not going to eat. Check what you already have in your fridge and pantry, and be honest about what you're actually cooking and consuming before going to Aldi. That way, you can create a realistic list of what you need and will eat. Plan around Aldi's weekly deals. Every week, at least one meat and one fresh produce item are significantly discounted at Aldi. The weekly ad also features dozens of other price reductions. I recommend looking at it before you shop to see if you can incorporate some of those discounted products into your weekly meals. Make sure everything on your shopping list has a purpose. When I make my grocery list, everything has a purpose or fills a role. Each piece of fresh produce I buy is assigned to a dish I'm scheduled to make that week. That way, I can reasonably assume it won't go bad before I can use it. When planning my weekday meals, I also try to make sure most of my dishes are solid, reliable recipes I could make in my sleep. If I'm on a budget, I'm not trying to experiment with something new that might not taste great. Get acquainted with your local Aldi and organize your list accordingly. I use the organization app Notion to keep track of all the little things in my life, including my grocery list and meal plans. When writing out my meal plan for the week, I parse my dishes into ingredients I know Aldi sells. From there, I note which aisle each item is in so that once I have my list, I can shop without doubling back for something. This also helps me avoid walking down aisles that might tempt me to impulse buy snacks or other items not on my list. If I'm really trying to stick to a budget, I also write down the rough price of each item by referencing my store's curbside-pickup service. That way, I can plan what my total cost will be and adjust my recipes if I'm going over budget. This may be obvious, but avoid the Aldi Finds section. If you're on a tight budget, I suggest avoiding the Aldi Finds aisle. It's usually filled with tempting limited-edition accessories, furniture, kitchen gadgets, and other goods that aren't essential. I see many customers who walk through here make impulse buys and spend more than they intended. Buy meat in bulk to freeze later. When possible, buy fresh meat in bulk (especially when it's on sale), portion it out, and freeze some of it for later. This can be more expensive upfront, but you can save money in the long run. For example, a $15 family pack of chicken breasts seemed pricey, but it lasted my boyfriend and me three weeks once we portioned them out and froze some. Don't assume name-brand products are a great deal just because they're being sold at Aldi. Keep in mind that Coca-Cola or LaCroix might not be a good deal just because it's being sold at a budget grocer like Aldi. One reason we stock name-brand items is so customers can see the difference in price between soda from a brand like Coca-Cola and similar drinks from an Aldi brand. Oftentimes, the Aldi "dupes" are a way better value. This story was originally published on April 28, 2023, and most recently updated on April 29, 2025.

Eggs under $5, other bargains on grocery shelves as Aldi debuts Thursday in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Aldi, the fastest growing grocery store chain in the U.S., makes its Las Vegas debut on Thursday, opening a stores in Henderson and North Las Vegas. And if you need a reason to go, eggs are cheaper than Smith's and Albertsons. A dozen Grade A eggs (cage-free) were priced at $4.47 during a media preview event on Tuesday afternoon. The stores opening Thursday are at: 621 Marks St. in Henderson 2106 W. Craig Road in North Las Vegas The opening date for a third store in the southwest valley at Rainbow Boulevard and Arby Avenue is expected in May, according to a company news release. 8 News Now has learned that a fourth store is planned in Henderson, near Eastern Avenue and Horizon Ridge Parkway in a former Albertson's location. Officials at Tuesday's event would not confirm that information. Thursday's grand opening events are scheduled at 8 a.m., with special giveaways for the first 100 customers. Normal business hours for the two stores are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aldi prides itself on helping its customers save money. They do it primarily through store-brand products, although you'll see some national brands, too. The stores are less than half the size of a typical Las Vegas supermarket, and you won't get mailers with the weekly specials. You can find those online at Shawn Eddy, Aldi's regional vice president, said saving money is a major focus for the chain. 'Price is key for us. We're the price leader, which we believe is why we're the nation's fastest growing grocer right now,' Eddy said. You'll bag your own groceries and plunk down a quarter to use a cart (you'll get it back when you return the cart … see the video below). And if Aldi is thrifty, there's no shortage of interesting items on store shelves. Produce offerings include Cotton Candy grapes, Cara Cara navel oranges and raspberry oranges, described as similar to a blood orange but sweeter. Specialty cheeses — more than 50 varieties, including imports — meats and seafood are available. 'We have a lot of great products, great costs. We have our Aldi Finds aisle back there,' Eddy said, pointing to a section of 100 unique items every week that the stores don't always offer. 'Our customers seem to love that. They can come in and get seasonally trendy items, things that we don't always carry. It's fun. You can get shoes, to a backpack, to a lawnmower.' Kim Brazington, the director of national buying and a 'certified cheese professional,' said Aldi has the products that are right for the time of the year. 'It's a great shopping experience because it's quick, and then we've got the products that you need and you want, like when you're going to need them. So, for a grilling season or for the summertime, we're going to have a fresh goat or that marinated mozzarella type of product,' Brazington said. 'And also, you never really know what you're going to find in our Aldi Finds selection,' she said. Aldi looks for items that are fun and innovative. 'Anything from like a truckle from the U.K. all the way to baked lemon ricotta,' Brazington said. She's looking for what's next, too. 'Sheep's milk cheese is a really great kind of step from goat's milk cheese,' Brazington said. It has the benefits of being easy to digest without some of the flavor that sometimes turns people off from goat's milk. 'I think sheep's milk cheese next year is going to be kind of the next big thing because sometimes the goat milk flavor that comes through on a goat cheese is a little bit earthy,' Brazington said.
