Blind date: ‘I studied Mandarin Chinese in college. He smiled and immediately responded in Chinese.'

GRETCHEN F.: 26 / data scientist What makes her a catch: She thinks about others a lot and values relationships. Her interests: Reading, running 7 P.M. KRASI, BOSTON Lots of Laughs Aldis I arrived early. I reviewed the wine list awkwardly and tried not to look expectant. Gretchen He was sitting in the restaurant as I walked in. He was very handsome and well dressed in a baby-blue pinstripe button-down and khakis. Aldis I remember thinking she was beautiful even before it was clear that she was actually my date. She was wearing a blue dress and had a beautiful smile. I botched the greeting and did this weird handshake-hug-handshake movement that she gracefully turned into a hug. Advertisement Gretchen I mistakenly reached out for a handshake then converted it to a hug, which made us both laugh. Aldis asked if I had been to Krasi before. We laughed when we realized that both of us had requested it — he had been there before, and my friends had recommended it — for our dinner. Greek to Mandarin Aldis From the first moment, there was not a single lull in conversation. Gretchen We talked about his residency program, which launched us into conversations about our ties to the medical world. At some point, we moved on to running. I found it particularly interesting that we both run as a way to release energy and are not very interested in racing, unique in the distance running world. Advertisement Aldis We were there for two hours and talked nonstop. We shared a lot of interests. We both run, are early birds, and carry a book wherever we go. Gretchen I mentioned that I studied Mandarin Chinese in college. He smiled and immediately responded in Chinese. I tried to keep up, but he definitely has a better command of the language than I do. I was shocked we had this in common. Aldis She was a great listener and there was a lot of laughter. I realized I had a crush on her pretty early on. Gretchen What was surprisingly most attractive was how he lit up when he talked about his family and friends. He seemed to really care about other people, something I really value. Aldis We had the Robola white wine. Appetizers included charred eggplant, asparagus, and chickpea fritters. We had a delicious fish dish, as well as souvla — probably my favorite. Gretchen I had never before tasted anything like any of the dishes [we had] and was so impressed. We wrapped up with the rice pudding. In Agreement Aldis The waiter floated the idea of going to a speakeasy nearby, but we are both early birds and had work the next day. Gretchen The time passed so quickly, I couldn't believe that it had been over two hours. Aldis We exchanged numbers. I did ask if she would want to meet up for another date and she said yes. Gretchen We hugged and parted ways. Second Date? Aldis That's the plan! Gretchen I would love to continue our conversations and see what else we may have in common. ‘I hate Triple H': Miffed netizens slam WWE CCO after reports of Randy Orton potentially facing Nick Aldis at SummerSlam surface

Randy Orton recently failed to beat John Cena for the Undisputed Championship at WWE Backlash 2025 and this left his fans heartbroken. Now, the latest reports suggest that the company has already finalised his opponent for SummerSlam. According to a report, 'The Viper' may face a former world champion at the Premium Live Event. Randy Orton may face Nick Aldis at SummerSlam and fans are upset Randy Orton, who recently suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of John Cena, is reportedly set to lock horns with an on-screen authority figure at SummerSlam. According to WrestleVotes, the plan is for the veteran star to take on Nick Aldis at the Premium Live Event (PLE) Aldis is the current GM of SmackDown. However, prior to joining the promotion, he made his name for himself as an in-ring performer. Aldis is best known for his his association with TNA, where he wrestled under the name Magnus and won the company's world title on two occasions. Interestingly, fans are not happy about Aldis potentially facing Oton at the event. A netizen said that the master of the RKO should win the World Heavyweight Championship at the PLE instead of taking on a manager. They further hit out at Triple H, who heads the creative team, for going in this direction. Orton deserves to be world champ not face general managers. I hate Triple H so much. Another netizen pointed out that Randy Orton needs to fight an active wrestler at the event rather than someone who has never wrestled for the promotion. Bro….are we like low on wrestlers or something? wtf is good An X user also accused the WWE of 'wasting' Orton's talents. He felt that even Joe Hendry, who challenged him at WrestleMania 41, wasn't a 'big' name. This year Randy Orton is getting wasted his WrestleMania opponent isn't that big now this Other netizens too had similar views. Stupid idea... He's a GM now. After the loss, he's going to work like anything happens ? Like Pat ?So let's go for all of this time : Wrestler vs Crowd guy who used to wrestle (or not) 🙄 WHY ?? THEY HAVE WRESTLERS DOING NOTHING BACKSTAGE !!! In case you did not know, Orton and Aldis have a bit of history as the 'Legend Killer' has RKOed him on multiple occasions. How did Randy Orton fare at Backlash 2025? Randy Orton and John Cena put on a compelling match at Backlash 2025, which featured false finishes and referee bumps. R- Truth, who considers the Cenation Leader to be his 'childhood hero', interfered in the closing moments of the match and received an RKO for his trouble. This, however, gave Cena an opportunity to nail Orton with the title and low blow to retain the gold. For all the latest coverage on WWE, track updates here

Massive Title Match Announced For WWE Backlash

After weeks of feuding and high tensions post-WrestleMania, a massive United States title match has been announced for WWE Backlash. During tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown, Nick Aldis has officially seen enough. Earlier in the night, Damian Priest and LA Knight were meant to be facing off to determine Jacob Fatu's next opponent. Interference from Solo Sikoa ended things in a DQ, and forced Aldis to call for a Triple Threat at Backlash. Advertisement Backstage, Sikoa argued that, technically, Drew McIntyre also interfered in a #1 Contender's Match last week. Aldis agreed, and said in that case, a Fatal Four-Way Match was better suited. Sikoa was clearly not happy, but Fatu said he didn't care, and would dogwalk anyone who got put in front of him. Now, the four will step into the ring at Backlash. There, Fatu will have to defend his newly won title against some of WWE's best. More matches for the premium live event will likely be added, as well. What do you think? Are you excited for Fatu's match at WWE Backlash? Who do you think is going to win and be WWE United States Champion? Let us know in the comments below. Shoppers heartbroken as Aldi pulls Sunday lunch favourite off the shelves

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SHOPPERS are gutted after Aldi pulled a much-loved Sunday lunch staple off the shelves — with many fearing it's gone for good. Fans of Aldi's beef gravy were left scrambling when they couldn't find it in stores, sparking a flood of posts online from disappointed customers. 2 Still, many customers say they're heartbroken to be without it in the run-up to summer Credit: Facebook One worried shopper wrote on Facebook: 'Anyone know if they have stopped selling this? Been to two local Aldis and not had any? Thanks.' Aldi confirmed the product hasn't been discontinued - but it's a seasonal product on sale through certain months of the year. Still, many customers say they're heartbroken to be without it in the run-up to summer. For some, it's not just about the gravy — it's about the comfort and tradition of Sunday lunches, now feeling incomplete. This isn't the first time Aldi has caused a stir by pulling popular products. Just last month, shoppers were shocked when the £2.99 Liz Earle beauty dupe, a cheap alternative to the £30 Cleanse and Polish, was dropped from shelves. The store also recently discontinued its Very Berry Muesli, leaving breakfast lovers searching for substitutes, and previously axed its hot cloth cleanser, a product that had built a loyal following among bargain beauty fans. Retail experts say cuts like these often come down to sales figures and product performance, but loyal customers still feel the sting when their favourites vanish. Even as some products disappear, Aldi remains a hotspot for bargains. Shoppers are urged to look out for red-sticker items, which can slash prices by up to 75 per cent, especially toward the end of the day. Aldi also offers Too Good To Go bags — surprise bundles of fresh food usually worth £10, sold for just £3.30. But act fast: only limited numbers are available each day. For everyday savings, Aldi's Everyday Essentials line offers low-cost staples, including 1.5kg bags of wonky carrots for 60p and discounted packs of wonky grapes for £1.49. And don't skip the middle aisle, where Aldi's famous special buys pop up regularly. Shoppers have recently reported spotting 300g pouches of Quality Street for just 49p, down from £1.99 — proving you can still find treats even when favourites go missing. Why are products axed or recipes changed? ANALYSIS by chief consumer reporter James Flanders. Food and drinks makers have been known to tweak their recipes or axe items altogether. They often say that this is down to the changing tastes of customers. There are several reasons why this could be done. For example, government regulation, like the "sugar tax," forces firms to change their recipes. Some manufacturers might choose to tweak ingredients to cut costs. They may opt for a cheaper alternative, especially when costs are rising to keep prices stable. For example, Tango Cherry disappeared from shelves in 2018. It has recently returned after six years away but as a sugar-free version. Fanta removed sweetener from its sugar-free alternative earlier this year. Suntory tweaked the flavour of its flagship Lucozade Original and Orange energy drinks. While the amount of sugar in every bottle remains unchanged, the supplier swapped out the sweetener aspartame for sucralose.
