Mundo Deportivo: Spanish move to expel Israel from European Competitions
Madrid - Saba: The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" said that Spain is leading an organized campaign to push the European Union to exclude "Israel" from all European sports competitions, similar to what happened with Russia, after it launched a military war in Ukraine in 2022. The Spanish newspaper indicated today, Friday, that Spanish Sports Minister Bella Alegria, 47, announced that her country is ready, along with the European Union, to start discussions about excluding "Israel" from all sports, continental and international tournaments. Minister Alegria emphasized that the European Union countries agreed to exclude Russia from sports championships, most notably the Olympic Games, which were held in the French capital Paris in the summer of 2024, due to the military invasion of Ukraine in 2022, calling on the International Olympic Committee to take the initiative and not wait for political governments to issue their decisions. Mundo Deportivo concluded its report that the Spanish Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sport wants all international and European sports bodies to move during the coming period, and not wait for politicians to take action against Israel, which continues to violate human rights and commit massacres against innocent people in the Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023. To help you find the best shoes for bunions, we consulted several podiatrists for their insights and shoe recommendations. According to the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), 'A bunion is commonly referred to as a 'bump' on the joint at the base of the big toe — the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint — that forms when the bone or tissue at the big toe joint moves out of place.' While many people assume that wearing the wrong shoes are to blame for bunions, that usually isn't the case. 'It's important to understand that bunions are largely hereditary, and ill-fitting shoes are typically not the primary cause,' Dr. Daniel J. Cuttica, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at the Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics, said. 'However, the wrong shoes, particularly those that are narrow in the toe box, can exacerbate the condition. Tight shoes cause the toes to crowd, which stretches the ligaments around the big toe joint. Over time, this stress can cause the big toe to deviate toward the second toe, worsening the bunion.' Brooks Women's Adrenaline GTS 23 GTX If you're looking for a supportive and waterproof pair of running shoes, Dr. Jason Gold, a board-certified podiatrist at the Foot, Ankle & Leg Vein Center, recommends these sneakers from Brooks. Skechers Men's Slip-ins Go Run Consistent 2.0 Empowered If you're looking for a lightweight slip-on shoe, this pair is a solid option. 'Proper arch support helps redistribute pressure across the foot, taking some of the load off the bunion area,' Cuttica said. Face paint and the stage were never my thing, so when I found myself with a face full of circus make-up (rosy red cheeks and all) on a brisk Seattle afternoon in early March, I was surprised how I felt. I was ready for my moment. I could feel myself morphing into someone different – less guarded, less self-conscious. More free. Maybe I should have been a theatre kid. Photo: Cat Nelson In advance of its Hong Kong tour stop this month, Cirque du Soleil had invited PostMag photographer Jocelyn Tam and me behind the scenes of Kooza, the most classic 'circus' of their productions. I'd seen Cirque as a child in 1990s San Francisco, likely Alegria, and remembered it as an expressive, avant-garde performance – not so with Kooza, which is replete with clowning and high-energy antics.
