Mobile County teacher pleads not guilty to aggravated child abuse
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile County Public School System teacher accused of giving a 4-year-old student alcohol has pleaded not guilty.

Tracy Elaine Walker, 56, of Mobile, was set to be arraigned Tuesday, but instead waived that proceeding and submitted a plea of not guilty, according to court documents.
Albert and Mary Singleton picked up their daughter, Alegria, from Collins-Rhodes Elementary School on April 28 and reportedly .
'She was staggering; she was slurring her speech,' an MCSO deputy said regarding the child's behavior.
The couple took their daughter to a doctor, who reportedly said her blood alcohol level was .286, 3.5 times the legal limit for an adult. Alegria had to be hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.
Mobile County deputies said Alegria told them her teacher had given her something to drink that made her sick.
Fairhope police investigate shooting in Rock Creek subdivision
On May 21, Walker, a special-education teacher at the school, was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse.
