Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki Join Brad Pitt in David Fincher's Next Untitled Project

Actors Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki have joined Brad Pitt in an upcoming Netflix film, whose details remain largely under wraps. The project centers around Cliff Booth, the stuntman character portrayed by Pitt in Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. This new story is set in a later time period than the original movie. While details are tightly guarded, sources say the film draws from a script Tarantino wrote but chose not to direct. Pitt reportedly convinced him to let director David Fincher take over the project, which was greenlit earlier this year. The film's storyline may include elements from Tarantino's 2021 novel, which expanded on Cliff Booth's backstory, including the controversial death of his wife. However, it is unclear how closely the movie will follow the book. Debicki and Caan's roles have not been confirmed. Sources suggest the script includes two major female characters — one running a bar and mud wrestling venue, and another described as a trophy wife — but it's unknown whether Debicki will play either of these roles. For Caan, this marks a reunion with Pitt, having worked together in the Ocean's Eleven trilogy. Production is expected to begin in California this July. Netflix has not released any official statements regarding the new cast members. Scott Caan, son of late actor James Caan, is known for his work in television, including CBS's Hawaii Five-0 and Fox's Alert: Missing Persons Unit. His film credits include Varsity Blues and Gone in 60 Seconds. Elizabeth Debicki gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Princess Diana in Netflix's The Crown. She has also appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Tenet, and the upcoming Maxxxine. Both actors are represented by CAA, with Caan also managed by Linden Entertainment and Sloane Offer.

‘Accused' Season 3 Still in Limbo, Fox Says It's Open to More Episodes

Just because Fox doesn't have a plan to renew Howard Gordon's 'Accused' at the moment, that doesn't mean that won't change in the future. The network addressed the renewal hopes of 'Accused' as well as other on-the-bubble shows 'The Cleaning Lady,' 'Alert: Missing Persons Unit' and 'The Great North' during a conference call with press ahead of its 2025 advertiser upfront presentation. 'As you know, ['Accused'] is anthological, which means it doesn't have the same timetable for renewals as shows that have locked cast. So right now, we're talking with Howard,' Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network for Fox Entertainment, said. 'If there's an opportunity down the line to event-ize a return that can really work for us and Howard, we'd love to do it. Right now, there's no plan, but there could be down the line.' The anthology drama first premiered in 2023 and aired its second season on 2024. Each episode of 'Accused' follows a completely different court case with an entirely different cast as it explores one of the most stressful moments in the lives of ordinary people. Thorn also provided an update on 'The Cleaning Lady,' which is currently airing its fourth season, as well as 'Alert: Missing Persons Unit' and 'The Great North.' The police procedural from John Eisendrath and Jamie Foxx is currently airing its third season, and the animated comedy from Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux and Minty Lewis is airing its fifth season. 'We love the teams and those shows, and I think there'll be more to come after they finish their current seasons. As you know, we order series all year round. The upfront for us is one cycle of ordering, and there will definitely be more [ordering] sometime, probably later this summer,' Thorn said. A mother's dark past fuels the gripping whodunit of her daughter's disappearance in 'The Stolen Girl'

Holliday Grainger as Rebecca Walsh and Denise Gough as Elisa Blix in 'The Stolen Girl'. Image: Supplied Whodunits are immediately lapped up by viewers. And it attracts more attention when it centres on a missing child à la 'Broadchurch', 'Marcella', 'True Detective' and 'Alert: Missing Persons Unit'. Disney+ recently dropped 'The Stolen Girl', a five-part series based on Alex Dahl's 2020 novel, 'Playdate'. The first episode transforms from calm to chaotic when Elisa Blix (Denise Gough) reluctantly agrees to let her daughter Lucia (Beatrice Cohen) sleep over at her new friend Josephine's house. After briefly meeting the mother, Rebecca Walsh (Holliday Grainger), Eliza, a flight attendant, drops off some of Lucia's things and makes arrangements to have her lawyer husband, Fred (Jim Sturgess), collect their daughter. The couple also share a son, George. However, when their attempts to reach Rebecca go unanswered the next day, the couple find themselves dealing with a parent's worst nightmare - a missing child. Elisa is devastated to learn that the home that Rebecca claimed to own was a short-let holiday home. It isn't long before the police launch a manhunt for the missing child while local journalist Selma Desai (Ambika Mod) takes a keen interest in the developing story. During the investigation, Elisa learns that Fred had an emotional affair with a woman he met online. But that's not all. They are in debt as he remortgaged their home. This becomes a sticky point for Elisa after they receive a ransom note. But it's a false lead. The unfolding narrative reveals Elisa's crucial role in resolving the case. And Selma leaves no stone unturned in finding out more about her, which includes visiting the religious community where Elisa was raised, interviewing her estranged mother and one of the locals. While Elisa uses social media as a way of reaching out to anyone who can assist with information, she is thrown for a loop by Selma's article, as she prefers to keep her past private. Unable to watch her so distraught, Fred threatens Selma's publication with legal action and gets her pulled by delving any further into Elisa's life. In the interim, Rebecca, who has changed her hair colour, has settled in a remote home in France. She convinces Lucia that she's her real mother and that her late husband Nicholas, who died in a car accident several years back, was her father. To ensure they don't raise any suspicions in the small town, Rebecca asks Lucia to introduce herself as Lulu-Rose. Ambika Mod as Selma Desai in 'The Stolen Girl' Image: Supplied Several weeks later, the police don't have much to go on except video footage of Lucia and the kidnapping vehicle. As the news of Lucia's disappearance spreads far and wide, Rebecca realises that they need to move again for fear of being caught. Meanwhile, Elisa, with the help of Selma, realises who the kidnapper is and leaves the city to go save her daughter before it's too late. Overall, this is a story of payback. Perhaps a little on the long-winded and frustrating side as it drags in getting to the nitty gritty, especially where the police are concerned. If you fancy yourself as an armchair detective, you will happily binge the series, which includes heavy themes around infidelity, sexual abuse, incest and religion. As emotions and reactions cloud judgment, the distinction between right and wrong becomes unclear, shaping a sequence of events that ultimately leads to accountability. Rating: 3/5 - solid and enjoyable series, though not groundbreaking. Below are recommendations for similar TV shows: Broadchurch A truly compelling series, bolstered by the casting of David Tennant and Olivia Colman. It centres on the murder of a young boy in a small coastal town, which attracts a media frenzy, threatening to tear the community apart. Alert: Missing Persons Unit When police officer Nikki Parker's son goes missing, she joins the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit to help other people find their loved ones. She works closely with her ex-husband on cases that hit close to home. Stars Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez.

The Biggest TV Cast Exits of the Year (So Far)

Goodbyes are never easy — and for reasons that science can't quite tell us, the goodbyes said to fictional TV characters are some of life's toughest. This year of television is far from over, but there have been plenty of those difficult farewells already, thanks to the cast exits outlined in our list below. More from TVLine Towards Zero Is Glamorous, Gorgeous and Sneakily Sexy - Here Are 5 Reasons to Check Out BritBox's New Agatha Christie Series Grey's Anatomy Taps grown-ish Vet for a Possible Series-Regular Role Tulsa King Promotes Three Cast Members Ahead of Season 3 (Exclusive) Thus far, we're not sure any departure hits harder than 9-1-1 star Peter Krause — whose beloved Capt. Bobby Nash was killed off in the show's April 17 episode — but the year's scripted-TV exits also come from Alert: Missing Persons Unit, Chicago Fire and more shows. (The industry's unscripted side has had some surprises, too, which we've also included in our list.) We'll keep updating this list as more small-screen departures make headlines in 2025. In the meantime, keep scrolling to see who's leaving what (so far) this year, and drop a comment with the stars you're saddest to see go! Holt, who has served as anchor of NBC Nightly News since 2015, announced in February his decision to leave that role. He'll step away in early summer, at which point he'll be replaced by NBC News veteran Tom Llamas; Holt will focus more on NBC's Dateline, which he has anchored since 2011. 'After 10 years, 17 if you include my years on the weekends, the time has come for me to step away from my role as anchor of Nightly News,' Holt said in a statement to staffers at the time. 'It has truly been the honor of a lifetime to work with each of you every day, keeping journalism as our true north and our viewers at the center of everything we do… I am thrilled to be able to work more closely with my enormously talented friends at Dateline as the broadcast continues to grow and attract new viewers in new places.' After a decade in the role of Days of Our Lives' Chad DiMera, Flynn is leaving the Peacock soap opera for a role on fellow sudser The Young and the Restless. Because Days films months in advance, though, Flynn will still appear as Chad well into 2026. 'I am grateful for my years at Days; it changed my life in the best ways,' Flynn told TV Insider, which broke the news in March. 'I've always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I've spent the last 10-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories. And now I'm excited for this opportunity and to test myself in a new way.' After a five-season run on RHOBH, Beauvais shared in March that she's exiting the Bravo staple, citing her desire to spend more time with family and embark on other projects. 'I have made the decision to leave RHOBH. My primary reason for stepping away is to focus on my sons and my upcoming producing and acting projects,' Beauvais said in a statement provided to TVLine. 'Thank you to everyone at NBCU, Andy Cohen, the producers, and especially the fans. I have deeply appreciated all of your support, this isn't goodbye — it's a see you later.' Ramirez, a face of the Fox cop drama in its first two seasons, was surprisingly written out at the start of Season 3 in April, when her Nikki Batista was murdered via a gunshot to the head in Episode 2. Speaking to TVLine after that fateful hour, showrunner Carla Kettner confirmed that 'Nikki is truly gone, and the emotional and professional fallout from her death echoes all the way through Season 3.' She added that the choice to kill off the series' female lead was a 'big swing, creatively,' but 'the best procedurals shake things up and find ways to deepen our understanding of the characters… It's sad to say goodbye, but I think those kind of bold changes make you sit up and pay attention.' As first reported by Deadline in April, Kyri (aka Darren Ritter) and Lockett (aka Sam Carver) are leaving Chicago Fire at the end of the current season and won't return if the show is renewed for Season 14. According to the trade, the exits are 'part of an effort to trim the budget' of the long-running series and come 'amid rumblings about cuts across Wolf Entertainment's NBC series.' Razat, who plays Emily's friend and Gabriel's ex-girlfriend Cami on the Netflix comedy, will not return to the show after four seasons as a series regular. When TVLine reached out to Netflix for confirmation in April, the streamer responded with a list of returning Season 5 cast members that did not feature Razat's name, but no further comment on her status was given. 9-1-1 fans were left heartbroken during the ABC drama's April 17 episode — the conclusion of its two-part 'Contagion' event — which ended with the death of Krause's Captain Bobby Nash. Showrunner Tim Minear told TVLine that the choice to kill off Bobby 'was entirely a creative decision on my part,' and not the result of Krause asking to leave the show. 'Look, am I crawling out on a skinny branch? Maybe,' Minear said. 'On the other hand, if the stakes are never real, if there's really no chance that any of this peril in which these characters find themselves amounts to anything, I think the show could die.'
