Chelsea reject Dortmund bid for Carney Chukwuemeka
Chelsea have rejected a loan offer from Borussia Dortmund worth more than £15 million for Carney Chukwuemeka (h/t journalist Alex Crook). The Blues have been trying to shift him off the books, but want a bigger bid to let him leave. The midfielder will be frustrated after the hierarchy blocked his potential exit. Chukwuemeka knows he is not in manager Enzo Maresca's plans for the coming season and wants to leave to get game time elsewhere. Most of the interest in Chukwuemeka has come from Germany, where he spent the second half of the season on loan from Chelsea. The 21-year-old, who earns €59,808 per week, impressed during his short stint with Dortmund and caught the eyes of other suitors. Unfortunately, Dortmund have not been able to agree a deal with Chelsea to sign him permanently, allowing other clubs to enter the race. These include RB Leipzig. However, nothing has materialised to date. Dortmund might have to move quickly to land the Chelsea ace. The Blues are trying to sign Leipzig star Xavi Simons and might use Chukwuemeka to sweeten the deal. Chelsea are only waiting to sell Christopher Nkunku to Bayern Munich before completing a deal for Simons. The Blues will have more leverage and can push the player to Die Roten Bullen, as Chukwuemeka is similar to Simons. Chelsea have several other players to shift off the books before the close of the transfer window, including Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling. The Blues could sell striker Nicolas Jackson. They also need loan moves for Tyrique George and David Datro Fofana.

‘Medical next week': Journo drops huge United signing bombshell with news that'll be music to Amorim's ears
Manchester United appear to have finally reached an agreement with Brentford for the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo. In what comes as a welcome update for the Old Trafford faithful, journalist Alex Crook revealed on Thursday evening that Mbeumo's 'medical at MUFC [is] expected to take place next week'. Advertisement On Monday, United submitted a second offer for their priority target after failing with their opening £45 million — plus £5m in add-ons — proposal. It's thought their follow-up bid was in excess of £60m all-in, which was closer to Brentford's demands. (Photo by) It meant that there were only the finer details to hash out between the two clubs, especially since Mbeumo had already green-lit his move to the Red Devils at the start of the month, rebuffing interest from Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the process. Advertisement He is poised to join Matheus Cunha as INEOS' only summer acquisitions thus far, and it's safe to say they'll need to pull their fingers out and get to work on more reinforcements when the Bees talisman is through the door. Mbeumo can revitalise Amorim's lacklustre attacking contingent The 25-year-old will kickstart 2025/2026 in hopes of building on the career-best campaign he oversaw last time out. Mbeumo's goal on the final day of the term meant he broke the 20-goal barrier for the first time in the Premier League, while he also contributed eight assists. To make the signing even more exhilarating for Amorim, the forward was available to start every single league fixture of 2024/2025 and he played a total of 3,417. In comparison, United's most dependable figure, Bruno Fernandes, featured for 3,023 minutes in the top flight.
