Attempted murder probe launched after man mowed down in Scots town
A Ford Fiesta was found on fire after a man was deliberately mowed down in an attempted murder. Police are hunting for the driver whose car was found ablaze after a man was deliberately mowed down in an attempted murder. On Tuesday, May 13, at around 9.15pm, emergency personnel raced to Stirling Road in Fallin following reports that a 26-year-old man had been struck by a black Ford Fiesta that was deliberately driven at him. The car did not stop and drove off in the direction of Stirling. A short time later, police received a report of a Ford Fiesta on fire on Sheriffmuir Road. The injured man was rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital where staff describe his condition as stable. Police Scotland are now urging for witnesses to come forward. Detective Inspector Yvonne Moreland said: "Extensive enquiries are continuing to gather more information on this attempted murder and trace the occupants of the car. "The vehicle involved, which was found in Sheriffmuir, has been recovered. "We are urging any witnesses to the attempted murder, or anyone who seen the car being driven between Fallin and Sheriffmuir to contact us. "If anyone has any personal footage or dashcam that may hold information that is relevant to this investigation, please get in touch." Any information should be passed to Police Scotland through 101 quoting reference number 3777 of 13 May. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained. On Sunday, in a separate incident, we reported that a 64-year-old motorcyclist had died following a crash with a heavy goods vehicle near Logie, Moray, on Saturday afternoon. The incident involving the white Honda CB1300 bike took place at around 6.30pm on the A940, the road between the towns of Forres and Grantown-on-Spey. The lorry was being driven by a man and he had a female passenger, and neither of them were injured in the crash. Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time. I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam of the area at the time to contact us." Anyone who has information which may assist Police Scotland with the investigation is asked to contact the force on 101 ,quoting incident 2889 of May 10, 2025.
