New private home sales in July rebound to hit 5-month high
New private home sales in July rebounded, hitting a five-month high with 940 units sold excluding executive condominiums. Bukit Merah flat fire that killed two occupants likely caused by PMD battery pack
Preliminary investigations have found that a personal mobility device battery pack may have been behind last night's fatal Jalan Bukit Merah fire. Two occupants of a rental unit died, while about 60 residents were evacuated due to the fire. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said there were 20 fires due to PMDs in the first half of 2025, up from 10 in the same period last year. Alexandra Anand reports.

Around 55,000 BTO flats to be launched between 2025 and 2027
Around 55,000 Build-To-Order flats will be launched in the next two years, a 10 per cent increase from previously expected. The National Development Minister says there are also plans to build more BTO flats that will be ready faster over the next two years.
