Seth Meyers slammed for leaving wife to care for sick daughter during her commencement speech
Seth Meyers has been criticized for not looking after his sick daughter while his wife Alexi Ashe gave an important speech - instead leaving her to hold their poorly child on stage. The talk show host, 51, came under fire earlier this week when he paid a sweet tribute to his spouse, 42, in which he applauded her for taking care of their little girl Adelaide, three, while she gave a commencement address. In his gushing post, Meyers praised Ashe for 'putting on a motherhood clinic' on her big day, also revealing that her niece had run onto the podium to join her too. In Meyers' pictures, mom-of-three Ashe could be seen cradling a sick Adelaide in her arms while she stood in her robes on stage. 'So proud to watch @alexi crush her commencement address while also putting on a motherhood clinic without missing a beat,' he captioned the post. 'Our daughter was under the weather and not interested in being with anyone but her mom and instead of sending her home she let her join her on stage without ever losing her cool. 'And then to top it all off her niece just wandered to stage mid speech to chill behind the podium.' Meyers' followers didn't take too kindly to the post, however, and blasted him for 'not giving' Alexi the 'moment she deserved.' Meyers' post irked social media users, who pointed out that perhaps he should have stepped up to nurse their child and allow Alexi enjoy her milestone moment. Taking to the comments, one asked: 'Am I the only one who thinks someone should have helped with the kiddo so she can focus on the task at hand?' 'And wtf were you doing?' another quizzed. 'This is just sad,' a third said. 'Jeez can she get one moment of her own?' Agreeing, another wrote: 'Oh god! A motherhood clinic??! So now every mom who's giving a speech is supposed the let their kid come on stage if they're not feeling well. 'Nope. She's awesome and congrats to her but this really is about you not giving her the moment she deserves.' A fifth continued: 'Her daughter and her niece couldn't be stopped from joining her on stage? Where were these children's fathers?' 'Yeahh… so uhhh… this is not the kind moment you think it is,' blasted another. 'You just allowed these children to take away your wife's moment she worked really hard for without stepping up to help.' He said: 'Our daughter was under the weather and not interested in being with anyone but her mom and instead of sending her home she let her join her on stage without ever losing her cool' 'Am I the only one who thinks someone should have helped with the kiddo so she can focus on the task at hand?' asked one social media user A seventh said: 'How often do we see their kids in his show while he's trying to interview people? 'Such a double standard. Why are we PROUD of these sacrifices when mom makes them and silent when we NEVER see dads make them?' Meyers and Ashe, who is a human rights attorney, wed in 2013, five years after first meeting at a wedding in 2008. The couple welcomed their daughter Addie in 2021. They also have sons Ashe Olson, nine, and Axel Strahl, seven. Meyers also came under fire from his Late Night viewers on Tuesday evening after he failed to ask George Clooney about the reports that Joe Biden was unable to recognize the actor at a fundraiser last year. George, 63, was on the show to promote his Tony-nominated Broadway play 'Good Night, And Good Luck.' However, Meyers did not ask Clooney about the shocking revelations that came out about the former president in the new book Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again. The bombshell book by co-authors CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios correspondent Alex Thompson claimed that Biden was reportedly so impaired that he didn't recognize Clooney at a star-studded June 2024 Democratic fundraiser in Los Angeles, the book says, claiming it left the actor 'shaken to his core.' 'It was obvious to many standing there that the president did not know who George Clooney was,' the authors said. Another Hollywood VIP guest reportedly said: 'It was like watching someone who was not alive. It was so awful.' Critics blasted Meyers for focusing the interview on Clooney's Broadway debut and asking what his wife thought of his hair. 'AND the cover up of Joe's Dementia continues,' one person said. 'Not surprised,' said another.

How Seth Meyers' lawyer wife, Alexi Ashe, beat Jennifer Lawrence to claim the talk show host and comedian's hand – and then beat food poisoning so she could marry him
Seth Meyers, comedian and host of NBC's talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers, started the year in punchy fashion. In his first episode of 2025, on January 7, he expressed his disappointment about having to scrap the script for his 'A Closer Look' segment after Donald Trump , then president-elect, made headlines with threats to take over Greenland. Meyers dared him to go ahead and do it. Adam Sandler (left) and Seth Meyers at the Golden Globe Awards in January, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. So what do we know about Ashe, who apparently is 'so happy' that actress Jennifer Lawrence once had a crush on her man, as reported by People?
