Three illegal expats arrested with large quantities of drugs and firearms
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: In a significant security operation, the Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of an armed criminal group comprising three individuals residing illegally in the country. The arrests were made by the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department for Drug Control, as part of its continued efforts to combat the spread of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
The suspects — identified as Fares Abdullah Saqr Sameer, Ali Obeid Shaheeb Hamad Al-Enezi, and Othman Mubarak Mushrif Hamad Al-Enezi — were apprehended after investigations provided solid evidence of their involvement in the possession and distribution of narcotics, as well as the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Authorities discovered that the group had been using a remote site in the Al-Salmi desert area to store and promote drugs. Following the necessary legal procedures, the location was raided, resulting in the seizure of a large and varied quantity of illegal items.
Among the items confiscated were:
4 kilograms of hashish
100 grams of marijuana
1 kilogram of Lyrica powder
25,000 capsules and tablets of psychotropic substances
3 precision electronic scales
2 AK-47 rifles
6 handguns
A quantity of ammunition
The suspects, along with the seized materials, have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying security campaigns and pursuing individuals involved in drug-related crimes, aiming to protect society, maintain public safety, and shield the community from the harmful effects of narcotics.
