Spaniard who lived in Cork pleads for help to satisfy mushy peas craving they developed Leeside
The post author said they used to eat mushy peas every day, and used to frequent Aldi and Dunnes Stores to get the goods, but sadly, they can't find a Spanish alternative.
The plea called on the people of Cork to either teach them how to make their own version of mushy peas or point them in the right direction for a Spanish source.
One person commented by saying:
'Having lived in Spain for a while and fallen in love with their food… waking up to see a Spaniard has fallen in love with mushy peas has absolutely made my morning,' they said.
The post author replied by saying Ireland has great food and they enjoyed their time in the country.
Various comments flooded in with links to recipes, information on the type of peas necessary as well as locations that might have the all-important marrowfat peas.
The Alicante-based author replied to those offering advice with thanks and kind answers, and one account cited that that a shop 'a bit of a drive from Alicante' has marrowfat peas in stock.
The author replied by saying:
'Thanksssssss i will go for sure (sic).'
A kind-hearted Redditor offered to send the mushy peas deprived Spaniard with the sweet green treat if they are unable to source them in Spain.
Like many people who surf Reddit throughout the day, I will be waiting attentively for an update on the mushy peas thread.
