Elmehdi El Jamari Aims for Pivotal Knockout Win, Eyes World Title Fight
Casablanca – Moroccan Muay Thai star Elmehdi El Jamari is putting the final touches on his preparations for a pivotal showdown at ONE Championship show ONE Fight Night 32 where he hopes to score a career-defining win and avenge his brother's loss to his opponent. El Jamari is set to face Aliff Sor Dechapan in a pivotal strawweight Muay Thai contest that could decide the next challenger for the world title inside Bangkok's iconic Lumpinee Stadium in the morning hours of Saturday, June 7. After scoring a spectacular knockout over Thailand's Thongpoon PK Saenchai on his debut in April, El Jamari is confident that he can secure a second finish in two promotional fights against a more difficult opponent this Saturday. The in-form Aliff, who is entering the fight after scoring three consecutive wins, is a dangerous fighter known for his powerful kicks and owns a 7-centimeter height advantage over the Moroccan. Aware of his next opponent's strengths and weaknesses after watching his fights closely, El Jamari has put together a game plan to land one of the biggest wins of his career. 'Aliff is a very different fighter to Thongpoon. He is much taller and has quite a different fighting style. However, we have put together a game plan that will surprise people once we are in the ring together,' El Jamari. Although he is remaining tightlipped about the details of his game plan, El Jamari made no secret of consulting his older brother and fellow ONE athlete Zakaria about facing his former opponent. Zakaria had suffered a disappointing first-knockout loss at the hands of Aliff last November – and Elmehdi is trying to build on the lessons learned from Zakaria's experience and is hoping to avenge his brother's defeat. 'Zakaria explained what happened during the fight. He doesn't want me to commit the same mistakes he made. He told me Aliff is a good fighter, but he is not a great fighter. I think Zakaria's biggest mistake was he put his hands down,' Elmehdisaid. 'I cannot wait for the fight. I cannot wait to enter the ring. It will be vengeance that rises to the level of our expectations,' he added. Despite focusing on his difficult mission in the upcoming bout, the 27-year-old Moroccan is already dreaming of challenging Thai star Prajanchai PK Saenchai for the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai world title. 'I think Prajanchai is a very experienced fighter. But his time is up. He is aging and this is the time for a new generation of fighters. I hope I will defeat Aliff first and then Prajanchai, too,' El Jamari said. Ahead of the pivotal matchup on Saturday, the talented multi-time Morocco, Arab, and Africa champion is promising an exciting all-out 'war' against Aliff and hopes to finish his opponent via knockout. 'It will be war. And the war will not go into the third round. I will finish him via knockout,' El Jamari said. Tags: El JamariFriday Fight Nightsone championshipONE Fight Night

#SHOWBIZ: Aliff Syukri struggling to make money due to high mansion upkeep
KUALA LUMPUR: "I used to think that having a mansion was something to show off, but now I realise the sheer scale of the monthly financial commitment," said entrepreneur and singer Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri, who allocates at least RM40,000 monthly to cover the ongoing expenses of his luxurious Petaling Jaya residence. Aliff explained that these costs encompass electricity bills, swimming pool maintenance, and salaries for his 12 employees, including housekeepers, personal assistants, and security personnel. The upkeep of the four bungalow lots that comprise his family's estate is also included. "I'm not complaining, but simply responding to media inquiries," he clarified. "My house spans 28,000 square feet and has 28 rooms, but almost 70 per cent of them remain unused. This isn't by choice, but to minimise expenses." He continued, "When I initially planned this house, I didn't anticipate the problems that would arise, such as leaking toilets, broken tiles, and the associated costs. Painting alone costs RM300,000." "That's why I work so hard to generate income. My monthly commitments are substantial, requiring me to maintain a high level of business activity. "If I had the option, I would prefer a smaller house. However, this is the house I built, and I've come to terms with it," he said. Aliff Syukri estimates that he has spent approximately RM3 million on renovations in the nearly eight years since moving into the house. "So far, I've spent over RM3 million on repairs, including lighting, plumbing, water damage, toilets, and tiling," he said. "Additionally, I allocate between RM300,000 and RM500,000 monthly for ongoing maintenance and repairs." "Therefore, I advise young people considering buying a house to look beyond the purchase price and carefully consider the long-term maintenance costs," he said.
