United Airlines turns off Starlink internet after static interference, WSJ says

United Airlines (UAL) began rolling out its free Starlink Wi-Fi last month but has since disabled the service on roughly two dozen planes to address problems with static interference, Alison Sider of The Wall Street Journal reports. United said is working with Starlink to address 'a small number of reports' about the problem, which it added is not a flight-safety issue. U.S. Government Drops Lawsuit Against Southwest Airlines

The Transportation and Justice departments dropped a lawsuit against Southwest Airlines LUV 2.57%increase; green up pointing triangle that accused the airline of overstuffing its schedule with flights it can't operate on-time. Government lawyers on Friday filed a motion to dismiss the case in San Francisco federal court. The suit was filed in the waning days of the Biden administration and was part of an effort to probe airlines over whether they were misleading passengers by setting unrealistic schedules with chronic delays. The suit centered on two flights that the government alleged experienced persistent delays for months. The airline and the Transportation Department didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
