Nike's Air Max Goadome Makes a Rugged Comeback
Summary:
First launched in 2000, theNike Air Max Goadomewas designed by Carl Blakeslee forNike's ACG(All Conditions Gear) line. The goal was to create a functional, street-ready alternative toTimberland'siconic 6-inch boot, which was gaining popularity among outdoor enthusiasts. However, the Goadome quickly carved out its own niche – especially in inner-city communities – thanks to early 2000s NYC hip-hop culture, which helped elevate the boot to global recognition.
More recently, collaborations like Supreme's 2021snakeskin editionhave helped keep the Goadome relevant in the streetwear scene as a weather-resistant, Air-cushioned blend of fashion and function – perfect for everyday sidewalk stepping.
Now re-released in 'Black/Sesame/Neutral Olive' – one of three colorways currently available on Nike's website alongside 'Summit White' and 'Black' – the Goadome features an updated waterproof leather upper, padded ankle collar for comfort and a rugged gum rubber outsole with aggressive lugs for traction. Additionally, it features full-length Air Max cushioning offering solid impact absorption, and carries embossed 'ACG' branding on the midsole nodding to its heritage yet reimagined for the modern urban landscape.
The Nike Air Max Goadome is available now $200.
