Tributes paid to Alluri
Nandyal: District Revenue Officer (DRO) D Ramu Naik paid tributes to the revolutionary leader, Alluri Sitarama Raju, who relentlessly fought for India's independence. On the 101st death anniversary of Alluri, floral tributes were paid to his portrait at the Collectorate's video conference hall on Wednesday. The event was attended by Collectorate AO Ravi Kumar, District Tourism Officer Satyanarayana Murthy, and other officials. The DRO praised Alluri Sitarama Raju, who played a crucial role in the struggle for India's independence. He mentioned how, during British rule, people suffered from numerous atrocities, and Alluri united the masses to start a revolution against the British. He led several attacks on the British forces during this freedom movement, supported by many revolutionary fighters. Naik stated that for two years, from 1922 to 1924, Alluri Sitarama Raju stood as an unparalleled hero in the tribal region of Manyam, sacrificing his life for the nation's independence. His indefatigable spirit of struggle should be embraced in life, guiding us to work diligently toward achieving noble goals, he stated.

Alluri, a beacon of revolutionary spirit: Collector Ranjith
Kurnool: Alluri Sitarama Raju stands as a timeless symbol of revolutionary spirit and his valor continues to inspire youth, said district Collector P Ranjith Basha. On the death anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter, he garlanded the portrait of Alluri Sitarama Raju and paid respects at the Collectorate Mini Conference Hall on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector described Alluri as a luminous force in the history of India's freedom struggle. 'His fight against British colonial rule marks a distinct and significant chapter in our independence movement,' he noted. Praising Alluri as a great revolutionary, who laid his life for the welfare of society, the Collector emphasised the importance of social responsibility among all citizens, urging people to draw inspiration from Alluri's ideals and contribute to the service of the nation and society. The Collector further underlined the importance of acquainting students with the history of Alluri Sitarama Raju. 'His legacy should inspire us all to support those in helpless conditions,' he added. During British rule, tribal populations in the forest regions faced severe hardships and exploitation. The British imposed restrictions on the collection and sale of forest produce, subjecting the indigenous people to severe oppression. Alluri led a fierce resistance against these injustices and secured liberation for the tribals, the Collector remarked. He urged the youth to move forward with Alluri's spirit as their guiding force. Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj, CPO Himaprabha Karraju, Collectorate AO Vijayashree, Special Deputy Collector Chiranjeevi, District Tourism Officer Vijaya, District Co-operative Officer Ram Anjaneyulu, and several other officials attended the event.

Tributes paid to Alluri on death anniversary
Ongole: On the occasion of tribal hero and freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju's 101st death anniversary, Prakasam district collector A Thameem Ansariya, along with Ongole and Santhanuthalapadu MLAs Damacharla Janardana Rao and BN Vijaya Kumar, Ongole Mayor Gangada Sujatha, joint collector Ronanki Gopalakrishna, various association leaders, and district officials paid floral tributes to the statue of the tribal hero in Ongole on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the collector called upon everyone to draw inspiration from the ideals of Sitarama Raju. She said that Sitarama Raju's struggle during the independence movement serves as an inspiration to everyone. Ongole MLA Janardana Rao highlighted that Alluri stood against the British in support of tribal communities and sacrificed his life at just 27 years of age. He described Sitarama Raju as a brave warrior who successfully raided British weaponry. Santhanuthalapadu MLA Vijaya Kumar praised Alluri as the 'Manyam Hero' who fought for the rights of tribal people and encouraged everyone to be inspired by him and move forward in achieving his ideals. District Tribal Welfare Officer Varalakshmi, Ongole Municipal Commissioner Venkateswara Rao, District BC Welfare Officer Anjala, SETNEL CEO Sri Srimannarayana, and leaders from various organisations were present. The district Superintendent of Police AR Damodar and other police officials paid rich tributes to the freedom fighter and revolutionary hero Alluri Sitarama Raju. After garlanding the statue of Sitarama Raju, the SP said that he had previously served as an OSD (Officer on Special Duty) in the Chintapalli area where Alluri had led his movement. Additional SP (Admin) K Nageswara Rao, AR DSP Srinivasa Rao, SB Inspector Raghavendra, Ongole One Town CI Nagaraju, Ongole Two Town CI Srinivasa Rao, RIs Ramana Reddy and Sitarami Reddy, AR SIs, and other police personnel were present.

Everyone should walk in Alluri's path, exhorts Collector
Anantapur: District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V offered tributes to the revolutionary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju on his death anniversary, at the Collectorate here on Wednesday. Addressing those present, Dr Vinod Kumar underscored the significance of drawing inspiration from Alluri's principles and emulating his bravery and selflessness. Reflecting on his previous service in tribal areas such as Rampachodavaram and Parvathipuram in the former East Godavari district, the Collector expressed his pride in Alluri, a Telugu son, being born in Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted Alluri's fight against the British colonial exploitation of forest resources and his unwavering dedication to safeguarding tribal rights. The Collector pointed out that Alluri spearheaded a powerful revolt at the young age of 27, becoming an emblem of resistance against British attempts to plunder teak and forest wealth. The Collector elaborated on how the British established depots and encouraged extensive deforestation, which spurred the rise of courageous leaders like Alluri. He lauded Alluri's work in organising village assemblies and raising awareness among the tribal people about their entitlements, which he noted laid the foundation for contemporary government welfare programs for tribals, including the provisions of the Forest Rights Act. Vinod concluded by urging everyone to support marginalized communities and assist them in achieving better standing in society, thereby carrying forward the legacy of Alluri Sitarama Raju. Officials including Assistant Collector Sachin Rahar, DRO A. Malola, AO Alexander, Tourism Officer Jay Kumar Babu, DTWO Ram Anjaneyulu, and Tribal School Principal Parvati attended the event.
