"I don't think anyone's expecting Drake Maye to put this franchise on his back,' Highsmith said. 'Everybody's going to do their part to help Drake Maye.' That organizational philosophy has been clear all offseason. New England bolstered the offensive line by drafting left tackle Will Campbell and adding veteran right tackle Morgan Moses to protect Maye. And it's our job — everyone's job; teammates, everybody around him — to help him," Highsmith said. "He doesn't have to do it alone... We're building a team that can grow with him.' The Patriots were not emphasizing this strategy as clearly last year under Jerod Mayo. 3 Patriots front office executives traveling to NFL Scouting Combine
New England Patriots front office executives Eliot Wolf, Alonzo Highsmith and Matt Groh traveled to Indianapolis on Monday for the NFL combine, according to Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan. Wolf is scheduled to hold a press conference with the media at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday. The executive vice president of player personnel, along with both Groh and Highsmith, will have a major role in helping newly-hired head coach Mike Vrabel put together the 2025 roster. Groh is the director of player personnel, and Highsmith serves as a senior personnel executive for the organization. This is a big week for the Patriots in assessing the available talent in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft.
