New CEO to take over Alta Care Group

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — After four decades of service, Alta Care Group CEO Joe Shorokey is retiring. He will be replaced by Vince Paolucci who has decades of experience in behavioral health and previously served as the organization's project development manager. Shorokey says finding his replacement was a long process but he's looking forward to what Paolucci will do. Looking back on his years, Shorokey says he has a lot of proud accomplishments, including expanding Alta Head Start into Trumbull County. 'The last ten as CEO have been the most rewarding for me. You know, where I felt that I can really contribute and do a lot more for the organization and for the community,' Shorokey said. Paolucci takes over March 31. 'I am excited about continuing the mission of Alta Care Group, you know, serving the children's needs, and the families, needs of the community. Really great behavioral health and educational needs,' Paolucci said. Also coming up is Alta Care Group's first-ever fundraiser called Chips for Kids — a glitzy, jazzy '20s-themed casino night. The black-tie event will be at the Embassy on March 7 at 6 p.m. and will include a buffet and casino games. Tickets are $80 per person. All the funds will go towards the nonprofit's mission of helping the emotional and behavioral development of children in the Valley. Tickets can be purchased online here.
