‘Enough': Cardi B slams online hate against Tyla
Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has come out swinging in defence of South African star Tyla, calling out the relentless online attacks the Push 2 Start singer has faced in recent months. 'People been dragging the s**t out of Tyla and it's like the girl does not even address or talk about nothing,' Cardi said during a late night X Spaces stream from Los Angeles. 'I'm starting to think people just don't like celebrities,' she said. The Am I The Drama? rapper admitted she hasn't followed every detail of the attacks but is shocked by the persistence. 'I don't know what the hate is about because I never really got into the details of what is the real hardcore thing. However, I do know every time I scroll down on my TikTok, there's a video of her and people are talking sh*t,' she said. 'It's like, goddamn, what do you want her to f**ing do, cut her f**ing veins? Like, enough. Enough. I think that's what you be wanting,' she said. Cardi, who is no stranger to 'straight up disrespectful' online comments, said the public criticism of Tyla has reached a disturbing level. Some of the backlash stems from Tyla's heritage and the language she uses to describe it. In 2024, during an interview on The Breakfast Club , Tyla described herself as 'coloured', a term that is a slur in the US but in South Africa refers to a distinct mixed-race identity with a complex historical and cultural background.

Cardi B Drops Jay-Z-Sampling Single ‘Imaginary Playerz'
Cardi B is giving us another taste of what to expect on Am I The Drama?. On Friday, the rap queen unleashed her latest single 'Imaginary Playerz,' which samples a classic by Jay-Z. The rapper shared a glam-filled music video for the track, featuring Cardi on a private jet and sailing on a yacht. The lyrics see Cardi talking herself up: 'My flop and your flop is not the same/ If you did my numbers, y'all would pop champagne/ If I did your numbers, I would hop out a plane.' Cardi also dropped a trailer for the album, showing her inside a house as crows swarm and attack her mansion. She tries to make her escape, only for an apparently evil version of herself to appear on a classic car, now in control of the birds. Cardi B spoke to Rolling Stone last year about finalizing the album. 'I'm a different person every single day,' she said at the time. 'When I'm in a good mood and I'm with my friends, [I'm] like, 'Damn, I want my shit to be played in this club.' But then I might be mad with my man, so it's like now I want to do this song. But then I want to do a pop record. I want to do my sing-y shit.' In about a month, Cardi B will release one of the most highly anticipated sophomore albums in history. Am I the Drama? is scheduled to arrive more than seven years after she broke out in a major way with Invasion of Privacy. The rapper has been pushing tunes from the forthcoming set for years, and her latest, 'Outside,' is still working its way up several Billboard charts. Just before she shares 'Imaginary Players,' the next promotional cut from the full-length, 'Outside' soars at radio — where Cardi is still a favorite — and helps her join an incredibly exclusive club on one specific tally. 'Outside' Jumps to No. 1 'Outside' climbs from No. 3 to No. 1 on the Rhythmic Airplay chart. Cardi earns her ninth career No. 1 on the radio list. As her current focus cut soars, she claims the fifth-most leaders of all time among female musicians.
