2 people rescued from Mokelumne River

( — Two people were rescued from the Mokelumne River Sunday night, according to the Amador Fire Protection District. Video Above: Metro Fire water rescue training Officials said Amador Fire and the Amador County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of two adults stranded in a raft around 7:45 p.m., near the shore of the Calaveras side of the river. Rocky terrain prevented access to the shoreline, resulting in rescue crews having to pendulum the raft and the victims with the use of a rope to a safer shoreline on the Amador side of the river, according to officials. Rescue crews were then able to use a rope rescue system to bring the victim up a 250-foot steep embankment. Crews reach 31% containment on Inn Fire According to officials, both people were safely pulled from the shore to the road. One person had minor injuries but is expected to be okay. Amador Fire Protection District rescues injured snowmobiler who sustained injuries

( — Emergency services responded to a remote area medical rescue that involved an injured snowmobiler on Saturday afternoon. Amador Fire Protection District stated the incident happened near Mud Lake on Highway 88 at around 2 p.m. 12 UC Davis international students' visas terminated by federal government, chancellor says AFPD said they were able to quickly mobilize and establish a staging area at Highway 88 and Mud Lake Road. Crews hiked about two miles to reach the patient — an adult male who sustained major injuries while operating a snowmobile in the backcountry. The California Highway Patrol's H-20 helicopter was used to locate the patient and maintain visual contact to guide the fire crew to the scene, said AFPD. Once they arrived, they were able to stabilize the man who was taken to a local hospital via helicopter to be treated.
