Officials said Amador Fire and the Amador County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of two adults stranded in a raft around 7:45 p.m., near the shore of the Calaveras side of the river.
Rocky terrain prevented access to the shoreline, resulting in rescue crews having to pendulum the raft and the victims with the use of a rope to a safer shoreline on the Amador side of the river, according to officials.
Rescue crews were then able to use a rope rescue system to bring the victim up a 250-foot steep embankment.
