Human remains discovered in NH marsh identified as missing mother Amanda Grazewski
The human remains found in New Hampshire last week have been positively identified as a missing mother who was last seen five years ago. The skeletal remains found behind the Hoodkroft Country Club on Thursday belonged to Amanda Grazewski, the New Hampshire Attorney General's office said on Tuesday. Grazewski, a 23-year-old single mother, vanished on St. Patrick's Day in 2020, at the very beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic. Amanda was living at a hotel in Nashua, but her money ran out and a friend brought her to a house on Birch Street. Sometime overnight, Amanda disappeared, leaving behind her phone, laptop and clothes. 'Our thoughts are with Amanda Grazewski's family during this incredibly difficult time. We extend our deepest sympathy to them,' Attorney General John Formella said in a statement. 'I also want to express my gratitude to the dedicated law enforcement and forensic professionals involved in this case, as well as to the community members who have provided valuable tips throughout this investigation.' Police scoured the marshy area behind the Derry golf course for several hours Thursday after receiving a tip for a body in the area. Joan O'Connor, Amanda's aunt, recently told Boston 25 News she was hopeful her niece's body would be recovered. 'All we can do is keep looking,' O'Connor told Boston 25′s Bob Ward. Search for Amanda Grazewski continues in NH on 5-year anniversary of her disappearance Officials say the investigation into the cause and manner of her death is still ongoing. Human remains found during search for missing New Hampshire mother
New Hampshire state officials say they have found human remains after searching for the body of a missing mother in Derry on Thursday. The skeletal human remains were found after investigators scoured a marshy area behind the Hoodkroft Country Club, the New Hampshire Attorney General's office told Boston 25 News. Derry police received a tip the day before, the department told Boston 25 News. The attorney general's office says the age of the remains, the cause of death, the individual's age, biological sex, and identity are unknown at this point. A source had previously told Boston 25 News the search is an attempt to finally locate the body of Amanda Grazewski. Grazewski, a 23-year-old single mother, vanished on St. Patrick's Day in 2020, at the very beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic. Amanda was living at a hotel in Nashua, but her money ran out and a friend brought her to a house on Birch Street. Sometime overnight, Amanda disappeared, leaving behind her phone, laptop and clothes. Derry police recently told Boston 25 News they are still trying to solve the 5-year-old case. Investigators will remain near the golf course for 'at least an additional day,' the AG's office said The AG's office says additional info will not be released until the body can be thoroughly examined. Search for Amanda Grazewski continues in NH on 5-year anniversary of her disappearance
In Derry, New Hampshire it is a somber anniversary. It has been five years since 23-year-old Amanda Grazewski, a single mom, was last seen. And on this fifth anniversary, the search for Amanda took to the skies where Janness Keller of Sky Dog Aerial Thermal Imaging volunteered his time, flying a drone over a marsh in Derry. 'I've got the time, I've got the equipment I'm a parent,' said Keller. Joan O'Connor, Amanda's aunt, closely watched the work. In five years, she has never stopped looking for Amanda. 'It's stressful wondering are you going to see her again,' O'Connor said. Amanda Grazewski vanished on St. Patrick's Day 2020, at the very beginning of the Covid 19 epidemic. Amanda was living at a hotel in Nashua, but her money ran out. A friend brought her to a house on Birch Street. Sometime overnight, Amanda disappeared leaving behind her phone, laptop and clothes. Derry, NH Police tell Boston 25 that after five years of investigation, they are still trying to solve this case. 'We'll keep pushing forward and doing the best we can to solve this,' Captain Thomas said. Over the weekend, Janness' drone recorded an image in the marsh's waters. It could be a body, or it could simply be branches. Until there's a physical search no one really knows. But for now, at five years, Joan OConnor is glad to the search for Amanda is not over. 'It's another search that hasn't been done in five years. All we can do is keep looking,' Joan O'Connor said. There is a $10,000 Reward offered in the case.
