Ranchi: A 16-year-old boy was detained from Pundag area in Ranchi on Sunday for allegedly making derogatory comments about the armed forces on a social media attention to the minor boy's post and seeking his arrest, Ranchi MLA CP Singh posted on X, "The pictures shared by the user, who is a resident of Ranchi, on his social media are extremely provocative and related to security and sovereignty of India. .. Ranchi: Acting on a tip-off, police seized 1,560 kg of illegal poppy bulbs , which are used to make opium, from a house in Singersarai village under the Namkum police station area. The market value of the seized contraband is around Rs 2.34 crore, according to police. DSP (headquarters) Amar Kumar Pandey on Friday said, "A team led by me reached the house and identified its owner as Jege Munda with the help of the local mukhiya. We sent a message to Jege to open his house, but he did not come."He further said, "So, the locks were broken in the presence of the local mukhiya and the magistrate and seized the poppy bulbs, which were hidden in 103 sacks."Pandey said a case has been registered under sections 15/18 (b), 22 (c)/25/29 of the NDPS Act against Jege. "Raids are on to nab the Jege and the role of other persons in the illegal transaction is also being ascertained," he added.
