MP kabaddi player can play for Goa in Federation Cup: HC
Panaji: The high court of Bombay at Goa on Monday permitted kabaddi player Bhavani Rajput to participate in the Federation Cup of 2025, scheduled at Amravati, Maharashtra, from May 4. The player went to the high court after he was dropped by the Goa Kabaddi Association from the coaching camp for the Federation Cup. The association stated that it relieved him from the coaching camp following a letter from the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India , which stated that each player should strictly represent his or her respective state unit only. The division bench, comprising justices Bharati Dangre and Nivedita Mehta, observed that all requisite formalities for transferring Rajput's candidature from the team of Madhya Pradesh to Goa were adhered to. The high court was told that Rajput's Aadhaar card now refers to him as a resident of Panaji, Goa, and that a no-objection certificate (NOC) was issued in Rajput's favour by the general secretary of Joff Jabalpur Kabaddi Association , stating that he is desirous of playing on behalf of Goa. The federation contested the NOC, saying that the NOC ought to have been issued by the state authority and not by the Joff Jabalpur Association, which is a district-level authority. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Highest Earning College Majors—2025 Edition Best Paying Degrees | Search Ads Learn More Undo The high court directed Rajput to obtain an NOC from the Madhya Pradesh Amateur Kabaddi Association at the earliest, and directed the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India to issue Rajput the registration to the Goa Kabaddi Association. Don't relieve player from coaching camp: HC to kabaddi assn
Panaji: The high court of Bombay at Goa has directed the Goa Kabaddi Association not to relieve professional kabaddi player Bhavani Rajput from the ongoing residential coaching camp at circuit house, Altinho. This is to prepare for the National Federation Cup , which will be held from May 2 to 4 at Amravati. The high court has also issued a notice to the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India in a petition filed by Rajput. He stated that he was relieved by the Goa Kabaddi Association from the coaching camp and that he cannot represent Goa based on a letter from the federation. The federation, in a letter on April 17 this year, stated that each player should strictly represent his or her respective state unit only. Exceptions are allowed in special cases of relocation of players due to the transfer of a govt employee, marriage, or unavoidable circumstances, which may be considered under exceptional cases. The association informed him on April 19 that he cannot be accommodated in the Goa state team for the Federation Cup 2025 and stands relieved. The high court will hear the case again on Monday.
