Amazfit Balance 2 Review: The Smartwatch That Finally Gets Women Who Do It All!

The Amazfit Balance 2 might look like your typical training watch at first glance, but after two weeks on my wrist, it proved to be something else entirely. It fits into the kind of everyday life that's fuelled by deadlines, messy buns, period cramps, mental to-do lists, and spontaneous walks that double as 'exercise.' It keeps up, without getting in the way. If you want a deeper dive into its lifestyle perks, you can also check out our earlier review here. But from my own experience, the Balance 2 moves with your rhythm. It's reliable without being loud, stylish without trying too hard, and smart enough to support your day without demanding anything extra. Where Style Meets Skin The 1.5-inch AMOLED display and sapphire glass screen give the Balance 2 a clean, polished look that works with anything I wear. It has a strong presence without feeling bulky, and the minimalist design blends effortlessly into both sporty and dressy moments. Whether I'm in sneakers or slides, it just fits. No outfit stress, no overthinking. I even tried it on my husband to see how it looked on a different wrist. On him, it gave off a bold, confident vibe. On me, it felt sleek and slightly elevated. It is rare to find a smartwatch that adapts so easily to different styles and personalities, but the Balance 2 really pulls it off. The Organiser I Didn't Know I Needed The to-do list feature deserves way more love. I can jot down tasks in the Zepp app and they appear instantly on my wrist. There's no clutter and no extra steps, just a clean, reliable reminder system that helps me stay focused through the noise. It feels like having a quiet personal assistant who never interrupts but always remembers what I forget. Notifications work with the same kind of ease. I can preview calls, and texts, all without picking up my phone. Everything stays sharp and easy to read, which keeps me in the loop without pulling me out of the moment. And when the day gets a bit too much, I tap into the built-in breathing tool. One minute is all it takes to slow down. It's become part of my rhythm, whether I'm stuck in traffic, between back-to-back meetings, or just trying to catch my breath. Cycle Tracking That Just Makes Sense The menstrual tracking here finally feels like it was designed with real people in mind. There's no need for extra apps or overly cute graphics. Everything is simple, clear, and easy to access. It shows your period predictions, fertile window, and symptom tracking directly on your wrist. I like that it feels practical rather than performative, giving me exactly what I need without any distractions. I usually check it when I start feeling off for no obvious reason. Sometimes I'm suddenly tired, extra sensitive, or low-key irritated, and seeing where I am in my cycle helps connect the dots. It makes me feel less confused and more in tune with what my body is going through. It doesn't shout for attention or overcomplicate things. It just quietly offers clarity when I need it most. Voice Commands, But Make Them Useful Zepp Flow, the voice assistant built into the watch, turned out to be more useful than I expected. With just one button press, I can set a timer, start a workout, or check the weather without ever reaching for my phone. It even connects with Alexa if you have smart home devices set up. The experience feels surprisingly smooth and responsive, which makes voice control feel less like a gimmick and more like a feature I actually use. Move, Breathe, Check In – No Pressure Needed The Amazfit Balance 2 supports the kind of movement that happens naturally throughout my day. It tracks my steps, heart rate, and PAI, a daily score that reflects how much effort I'm putting in. I'm not very active, so my PAI stays on the lower side, but it's satisfying to see it slowly increase. You even earn a badge when you reach 100 PAI in a week, which adds just enough motivation to keep moving. I'm not someone who's constantly switching between workouts, but it's nice knowing the Balance 2 can keep up if I ever decide to change things up. With over 170 sport modes – from yoga and strength training to walking, stretching, and even cleaning – the options are there if I need them. Most days, I just track my walks and steps, but it's comforting knowing the watch is ready for whatever kind of movement I feel like doing. Body composition scanning gives you quick insights into your fat percentage, muscle mass, water levels, and BMI. It's private, fast, and fits easily into my daily routine. I usually check mine on slower days – the kind where my energy dips and even getting out of bed feels like effort. No judgement. Just a simple way to stay in tune with what my body needs. Final Thoughts The Amazfit Balance 2 feels like it was made with women in mind. It understands that our days are rarely linear. Some are powered by checklists and caffeine, others are softened by mood swings, cramps, or the quiet need to just breathe. This watch doesn't try to push you into hustle mode. Instead, it moves with you. At RM1,299, the Amazfit Balance 2 feels like a thoughtful pick. It's reliable, stylish, and knows exactly when to show up. With early bird gifts like a waist clip fan and a string bag, there's even a little joy built into the unboxing. No drama, no pressure, just a smartwatch that moves at your pace and supports your rhythm.

Amazfit Balance 2 Review: 5 Things We Love About This Smartwatch That's Ideal For Everyday Use

The Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch is finally here! Pre-orders opened on 29th June 2025, and the device will officially launch in Malaysia on 4th July 2025, retailing at RM1,299. As expected, this latest model feels much more premium compared to its predecessor, the Amazfit Balance, which debuted back in 2023. We won't dive too deeply into the specs or how much of an upgrade it is, though, to be clear, it absolutely is an upgrade. Instead, we'll analyse how – despite the Amazfit Balance 2 being primarily designed for sports enthusiasts and people constantly on the go – it's also a solid choice for everyday users who may not have the luxury of time or access to fitness facilities to lead an active lifestyle. In fact, it's surprising how many of the watch's features can go a long way in helping to improve your overall wellbeing. Here are 5 things I love about the Amazfit Balance 2: 1. Long-lasting Battery Life Let's start with the battery life, because let's face it, no one wants a smartwatch that needs constant charging. It is said that the Amazfit Balance 2 has 21-days' worth of battery life on a single charge. After receiving the unit, I charged the watch to just 90% to really put it to the test. Nearly a week later, the battery is still at 64%, which, in my opinion, is pretty impressive. Of course, battery life will vary depending on usage. If you're mainly using the device to check the time or receive email and message notifications, then you likely won't need to worry about it running out of juice too quickly. However, if you're using it to track your overall health, fitness progress and sleep, then it'll definitely drain a little bit of power, but I can confidently say that it'll last you at least a week or two on a single charge, which is good enough already. 2. Workout Features & Zepp App I'm not particularly into sports or going to the gym, but I do perform light workouts and exercises at home, including dancing, to stay active. As someone in his 30s, I've become more mindful about taking care of my body and overall health. What I love most about the Zepp App is how it allows you to personalise your workouts and set weekly fitness goals on the Zepp Coach feature. The watch then tracks your progress, helping you stay on top of your routine. Plus, you have over 170 workout modes to choose from! Some may find the reminders annoying, possibly due to exhaustion, stress, lack of motivation, or simply being occupied with other errands. However, just like a real-life coach, it helped remind me to be more disciplined and stay on track on my workout days and rest days. Also, as someone who sits at an office desk for hours, I find it particularly helpful that the watch reminds me to stand up, do some stretching or go for a short walk for a few minutes after detecting inactivity for an hour. If you're someone who's worried about not getting enough steps in or burning enough calories, when you walk for a certain distance and time, the Amazfit Balance 2 will automatically detect it as a workout. So, whether you choose to accept or cancel the workout notification when it pops up, your steps will be recorded. Honestly, I was surprised to learn just how much I walk in a day and how many calories I burn, thanks to the Amazfit Balance 2. 3. Mic & Speakers The Amazfit Balance 2 comes equipped with a microphone on the bottom side and two speakers at the back, which are surprisingly more powerful than I had expected. While it can't play videos, it does support music playback and includes [insert number] GB of storage for your audio files. As someone who enjoys listening to music and dancing, I find the built-in speakers surprisingly useful — and more fun — as I can actually feel the beat vibrations through the watch on my wrist. Sure, you could just play music from your phone or a Bluetooth speaker, but it's still nice to have another option. Plus, if you receive a call and don't have your earbuds or headphones nearby, the speaker is loud enough for you to hear the caller clearly. 4. The Camera Remote Button Okay, I know many smartwatches come with this feature, but for a device designed with sporty and active users in mind, how can you not appreciate having a camera remote button? I love how seamlessly the watch connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. You can set your phone up on a tripod, then simply press the button on your watch to snap a photo. It's quick, convenient, and genuinely useful. You take a quick snap right away or set a 3-second delay on the shutter button, which acts as a timer before the photo is taken. Of course, you always have that option to set the timer on your phone's camera app itself if you need a little more time to coordinate and pose for the photo. 5. Sleep Tracking Feature I hate to admit it, but like many people, I don't have the best sleep schedule. I often stay up late playing video games or doom-scrolling on my phone. While I can usually estimate how much sleep I'll get each night, I don't have much insight into how that affects my mental and physical readiness, or my stress levels, after a night of little rest. After testing out the sleep tracking feature on the Amazfit Balance 2, I discovered a lot about my sleep patterns. I wore the smartwatch to bed, and it has genuinely helped me take my rest more seriously. The data collected is presented via the Zepp app, which highlights the areas of my sleep metrics that need more attention. As you can see from the screenshots, my Deep Sleep results haven't been great over the past few days, and it's clearly had an impact on my mental recovery. After learning all this, I've set a bedtime reminder on the smartwatch to help ensure I get enough sleep to take on the day, something I definitely should've done a long time ago. Now that I have more detailed data at hand, I'm committed to improving my sleep schedule. Here's to hoping for some positive progress ahead. Overall Thoughts Yes, the Amazfit Balance 2 is designed with sporty and active users in mind, but I personally find it to be incredibly useful for people like me – those who might not be prioritising their health as much as they should. I've always intended to improve my overall well-being, but never really knew where or how to start. With this device, I'm glad to say I've finally taken the first step towards a healthier lifestyle. There are still many features on the Amazfit Balance 2 that I've yet to explore, but I'm looking forward to testing them out when I get the chance. At RM1,299, it's actually quite affordable compared to competitors offering similar features. And even if it's slightly over your budget, it's still a worthwhile investment if you're looking to make a positive change in your lifestyle, or at the very least, keep better track of your health.

I just went hands-on with the Amazfit Balance 2 — this premium multisport smartwatch boasts 21 days of battery life

Amazfit just announced the Balance 2, a high-end smartwatch designed for multisport athletes and boasting a sizable AMOLED touchscreen, a pair of physical controls, 100 meters of water resistance and support for more than 170 workout types. The brand also unveiled the Amazfit Helio Strap. Similar to the Whoop 5.0, the Helio Strap is a screen-less wellness tracker designed to be worn on the wrist and promising continuous heart-rate monitoring with minimal fuss. Amazfit says that using the two in parallel, with the watch being your primary device for recording workouts and the Helio Strap being your go-to for monitoring sleep and recovery, should result in even greater holistic-tracking accuracy. All of the data from both gets processed and combined in the Zepp app. I haven't gotten my hands on the Helio Strap just yet, but I have been wearing the Amazfit Balance 2 for a few days now. Here's everything you need to know about this freshly debuted fitness-focused smartwatch. The Amazfit Balance 2 is available now for $299, making it one of the brand's priciest wearables. The Amazfit Helio Strap is also available now for $99. The devices are additionally being sold in a bundle for $379 or $20 off. The Balance 2 is built around a roomy and bright 1.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen protected by sapphire glass. The max brightness is 2,000 nits, the same as two of the best smartwatch models in 2025, including the Apple Watch Series 10 and Google Pixel Watch 3. The combination of an aluminum alloy frame and fiber-reinforced polymer (plastic) should mean a durable yet reasonably lightweight construction. At just under 60 g with the included rubber strap attached, the Balance 2 weighs roughly the same as the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The circular case has a somewhat large diameter of roughly 48mm and a fairly standard thickness of around 12mm. In my first few days with the Balance 2, I'm finding it wears quite comfortably, even though I tend to prefer smaller smartwatches; I especially like the orange strap, which is plenty stretchy, soft and with ample adjustment points. Two physical controls adorn the side of the case. The upper one is both a digital crown, which can be used to scroll through apps and info on the app, and a pressable button that brings up the main menu by default. The lower button opens up the workout menu by default. With 100 meters of water resistance, you can safely wear the Balance 2 while swimming or even scuba diving (don't worry, there's a dedicated tracking mode for that). The Balance 2 sports Amazfit's latest holistic sensor array (BioTracker 6.0) and can monitor everything from heart rate to blood oxygen saturation to stress to menstrual health. It should also be a darn good watch for sleep tracking, based on my experience with other recent Amazfit models. Meanwhile, an onboard GPS and barometric altimeter should provide accurate location and elevation data. The Balance 2 additional sports an onboard temperature sensor. Designed for multisport athletes dedicated to their training, the Balance 2 has over 170 workout tracking modes, including the usual suspects, like running and cycling, and more nuanced/recently trending activities like freediving, pickleball and HIIT workouts. It automatically recognizes over 25 strength training movements and even generates post-workout muscle heatmaps to help you target areas for future sessions. Amazfit's Zepp Coach feature uses AI analysis to provide personalized training plans for runners to help prep for a 5K, 10K or marathon. The device additionally has a dedicated HYROX racing mode. The Balance 2 isn't only for hardcore workout buffs, though, despite its billing. For those who love hitting the links and/or the slopes, it offers a large cache of global ski resort maps along with support for over 40,000 golf courses worldwide. I'm especially curious to check out the watch's new BioCharge Score (coming soon, date TBD). It's similar to Garmin's Body Battery or Samsung's Energy Score except it's dynamic, changing throughout the day based on a user's rest and exertion. There's no cellular connectivity but the Balance 2 does have an onboard speaker and microphone for taking calls from a paired smartphone. Speaking of which, the companion Zepp app works with Android (7.0 or later) and iOS (15.0 or later) devices. Like most modern smartwatches, the Balance 2 supports mirrored smartphone notifications. It also has some handy tools, like an onboard notes app and camera remote function. Similar to the recently launched Amazfit Active 2, the Balance 2 supports offline maps with turn-by-turn directions. However, let's hope the user experience has improved some since my testing, as I found the brand's take on offline maps to be less than smooth and user-friendly. Amazfit says the Balance 2 battery should last for up to 21 days in smartwatch mode with normal use. However, the brand doesn't state how long the device will last when using GPS for tracking, a notorious power hog. The Balance 2 ships with a small charging puck that works with USB-C — the same one used by the Amazfit T-Rex 3 — but you'll need to provide your own cord and outlet adapter. The Amazfit Balance 2 has the build quality and features of a flagship smartwatch, along with a hefty price tag to match. At $299, the Balance 2 is competing head-to-head with devices like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, which is not only a fantastic full-featured smartwatch but also an impressive fitness and wellness tracker. Historically, one of the things that sets Amazfit apart from larger brands, like Samsung, Google and Apple, is a focus on wallet-friendly wearables that don't skimp on high-end wellness features or design. The $99 Amazfit Active 2 is a perfect example of this. The Balance 2 is Amazfit's attempt at something more premium and luxurious. And though it has some advantages over the Active 2, like greater water resistance and a clicky digital crown, I'm not convinced those are worth three times the cost... but we shall see. Stay tuned for a full review of the Amazfit Balance 2 and the Amazfit Helio Strap.
