When is Prime Day 2025? How to sign up for an Amazon Prime membership before summer event
Amazon's global Prime Day event is next month, when the world's largest online retailer will help members have a summer of savings. Prime Day, which actually spans two days, features discounts on Amazon-exclusive products, trending items and the hottest brands on the site. Prime members can also take advantage of deals across more than 35 categories, including electronics, kitchen, beauty and apparel. While Amazon hasn't released the exact days for this year's Prime Day, the company confirmed in a news release that the two-day event will take place sometime in July. "We know members love savings, so we are working hard around the world to offer the hottest deals from new brands and trending products you can only shop on Amazon," the news release stated. Amazon promised more details would become available at a later date. Last year's Amazon Prime Day drew in record-breaking sales, with more items sold in 48 hours than during any previous Prime Day event. Independent sellers reportedly sold over 200 million items during the 2024 Prime Day event. In 2024, the company also had a record-breaking year overall. It recorded its fastest delivery speeds ever, shipping over nine billion items to customers the same day or next day. Prime members around the world saved a total of nearly $95 billion on fast, free delivery. The average U.S. Prime member saved more than $500 on deliveries.
