Voter theft: Congress leaders stage protest in Srikakulam
Senior Congress leaders Ambati Krishna Rao and KVLS Eswari on Tuesday staged a protest in Srikakulam seeking an unconditional apology from the Election Commission of India (ECI) for allegedly supporting the BJP through manipulation of electoral lists and destroying Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) data. The deplored the arrest of Opposition Leader in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and others leaders in New Delhi on Monday when they protested the discrepancies in voter's list in Mahadevpura and other constituencies of Karnataka and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voters' list in Bihar. Speaking to media, Mr. Krishna Rao said that people cutting across party lines have been appreciating Mr. Rahul Gandhi for revealing ''vote thefts'' in the 2024 general elections and Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections. Voters are stunned with the revelations. Party leaders Mantri Narasimhamurthy, A. Venkata Naidu Mamidi Satyanarayana and others were present at the protest.

Ambati Krishna denies funds misuse claims
Former President of Srikakulam District Congress Committee Ambati Krishna Rao on Tuesday alleged that a few people with vested interests made false allegations in regards to funds related to Indira Vignan Bhavan, the Congress Party office in the district. Addressing the media on Tuesday, he said that former Union Minister Killi Kruparani and other leaders have targeted him as he gave Dalit and BC leaders an opportunity to lead the party in several constituencies of the district. Mr. Krishna Rao said: 'During my tenure, the Indira Vignan Bhavan, which owns commercial properties was maintained with the rental income received. This is in accordance to the guidelines of the party. My suspension as a DCC president by the Pradesh Congress Committee is not valid since the All India Congress Committee has to take the final decision after conducting a thorough enquiry.' He added: 'I have been with the Congress Party for the last three decades without any break. Other leaders have left the party after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. I will submit a detailed report to the AICC over the happenings in the district.'

Congress stages protest in Srikakulam against ‘misuse' of Central agencies by NDA govt.
The Srikakulam district president of the Congress, Ambati Krishna Rao, alleged that the Union government was misusing Central government organisations such as CBI, ED, Income Tax, Election Commission of India and other statutory bodies for its own political gains while ignoring the administration which is supposed to be done in accordance to the guidelines of the Indian Constitution. Along with party leaders, he participated in Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan organised in Srikakulam on Saturday (June 28, 2025). He alleged that the Election Commission of India turned into a puppet in the hands of the Union government it was evident with huge difference between polled votes and voted counted during Maharashtra elections. He alleged that the ECI has been doing many mistakes intentionally in revision of voters' list in Bihar where Assembly elections would be held very soon. Mr. Krishna Rao has also alleged that the State government was also ignoring rules and regulations in its administration and putting the State in a debt trap. DCC vice presidents K.V.L.S. Eswari, Ijjorothu Ramana and others participated in the protest.

Sharmila's Srikakulam visit set to strengthen Congress: Ambati Krishna Rao
In order to strengthen the Congress party in its traditional stronghold, Srikakulam District Congress Committee President Ambati Krishna Rao announced on Tuesday that PCC President Y.S. Sharmila Reddy will visit the district on June 19. During her visit she will give a clear direction for the improvement of the party in all mandals of Srikakualm district. Addressing the party leaders at a meeting in Indira Vignan Bhavan he asked them to highlight important issues such as the Vamsadhara Phase-2, a vital irrigation project initiated by the previous Congress government, that has been completely neglected to the notice of the PCC President during the review meeting. He criticised the successive government's for failing to prioritise irrigation projects and revival of sick industries. He said: 'The district has not witnessed any development since 2014.' During the meeting Mr. Krishna Rao also focused on the upcoming local body elections scheduled for next years. He said that the selection of candidates keen to contest the ZPTC and MPTC seats will begin following guidance from the PCC president. Mr. Krishna Rao directed leaders of frontal organisations —Congress Seva Dal, Indian Youth Congress, All India Mahila Congress, INTUC, and the NSUI to make Ms. Sharmila's tour a grand success and submit reports in regards to their activities in the last six months.
