Junior Artist Ambubai Sonawane, 53, Passes Away After Goregaon Road Accident
Last Updated: 53-year-old junior artist Ambubai Sonawane died after a road accident in Goregaon. She sustained severe injuries and passed away during treatment a day later. A 53-year-old junior artist, Ambubai Sonawane, reportedly met with a road accident in Goregaon East. Sonawane was riding a two-wheeler driven by 29-year-old acquaintance Shubham Ghatwal, and at the Goregaon Check Naka, while trying to overtake a BEST bus, their two-wheeler collided with an oncoming vehicle. In this crash, Sonawane sustained major injuries. As per the Free Press Journal, it was on August 4 that Sonawane, a resident of Shanti Niketan, went to Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari for a film shoot. The next morning, while returning at around 8:30, she met Ghatwal, an acquaintance, who offered her a ride home. As they headed to the Goregaon check post, Ghatwal attempted to overtake a bus and collided with an oncoming two-wheeler. As per officials, Sonawane fell and sustained serious injuries, after which she was taken to Seven Hills Hospital, Andheri, where she was given first aid. After receiving the first aid, Sonawane was taken back home, but later her son took her to Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari, where, on the day after the accident, she was declared dead during treatment. Kantara 2 came to an abrupt halt on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 6, after a junior artist named M.F. Kapil died after drowning in the Kollur Souparnika River in Karnataka. As per reports, Kapil chose to take a dip in the river during a lunch break when the mishap occurred. His body was later recovered on Tuesday evening. Strong currents reportedly swept away Kerala-based M.F. Kapil. Local authorities, along with the fire department, launched an immediate search and rescue operation. Pillion rider died after crash while overtaking bus
Mumbai: A 53-year-old Goregaon resident died on Wednesday after the bike she was riding pillion was hit by another bike, allegedly being driven on the wrong side of the road. Her acquaintance, who was riding the bike at high speed, was overtaking a bus from the left side when they collided with the other bike, said a police officer. Pillion rider died after crash while overtaking bus According to the police, the incident occurred on Wednesday at 8:30 am when Ambubai Sonawane, a junior artist in the film industry, completed her shoot in Chitranagari in Goregaon and was returning home in Shanti Niketan, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. Her acquaintance, Shubham Ghatwal, 29, picked her up from the shooting set to drop her home, said a police officer. 'Ghatwal was overtaking the bus at a high speed from the left side when he collided with another bike, which was being driven in the wrong direction, causing both of them to fall,' the officer said. Sonawane was seriously injured and rushed to Seven Hills Hospital. She was given first aid and sent to Jogeshwari East Trauma Care Hospital, where she died while being treated, he added. The police have registered a case against Ghatwal under Section 184 (dangerous driving) of the Motor Vehicles Act and Sections 106(1) (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
