Israeli Occupation Misleads World, Aggravates Famine, Genocide in Gaza

DaysofPal- Civil society organizations in the Gaza Strip have sounded the alarm over the deliberate and systematic campaign by the Israeli occupation to starve and kill civilians through restricted access to food, medicine, and humanitarian aid. In a strongly worded statement released today, these organizations condemned 'the calculated Israeli strategy of genocide' targeting Gaza's most vulnerable populations: children, orphans, widows, the elderly, and the wounded. The statement noted that the Israeli forces orchestrate a large-scale media disinformation campaign aimed at misleading the global public into believing that humanitarian aid is reaching the besieged enclave. In reality, the organizations say, famine is deepening, and food insecurity has reached catastrophic levels. According to the statement, Israeli occupation is not only restricting the flow of aid into Gaza but also manipulating its delivery through specific routes controlled by the so-called 'American Gaza Relief Foundation,' which the organizations described as having a notorious record of mismanagement and complicity. The Israeli forces cooperate with looting gangs and criminal networks that intercept aid convoys long before they can be properly distributed. Israeli forces are reportedly denying United Nations agencies and other international groups the ability to reach hungry civilians directly. Instead, the Israeli occupation leaks the paths of aid convoys to armed gangs, who then loot the supplies. Moreover, any local or civilian-led efforts to coordinate or safeguard food distribution are met with immediate and deadly aerial bombardments by Israeli aircraft. 'Entire categories of vulnerable people, including children, the disabled, the sick and injured, and single mothers, are unable to reach what little food does come through,' the statement said. 'Looted goods flood local markets at prices far beyond what ordinary citizens can afford, while scenes of chaos, violence, and murder unfold daily.' It added One particularly harrowing detail from the statement likened the current situation to 'something worse than zombie movies,' where civilians are killed at random and where Israeli soldiers place bets on how many people they can kill in a given timeframe. Moreover, over 20,000 children have been hospitalized for severe malnutrition, according to the groups, and over 300,000 children under five, along with 150,000 pregnant and nursing women, require immediate access to therapeutic food supplements. Civil society groups also criticized the locations where aid trucks are forced to stop, which are areas marked as 'red zones' that are notoriously dangerous. These zones are often under direct surveillance and control of Israeli snipers, tanks, and automated gun systems that open fire on starving civilians attempting to reach the supplies. As famine spreads rapidly across Gaza, the organizations are calling for a 24-hour window for the safe and uninterrupted delivery of therapeutic milk and essential nutritional aid. They are also urging the international community to facilitate the entry of at least 600 humanitarian trucks daily to meet the basic needs of the more than two million people currently residing in the Strip.
