Pizza Cheeks ready to serve a slice at new location

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) —A pizza place in Sioux Falls is making a big move to expand its business. While you may recognize this building as the former Kaladi's Bistro & Grill, it is now the home of Pizza Cheeks. What's the SF retail, restaurant landscape for 2025? 'It's always been in the back of our mind as, like, if this place comes available, that would make a really great full Pizza Cheeks,' Pizza Cheeks Co-owner, Barry Putzke said. You may recognize that name, as they originally started out in the back of The Hello Hi cocktail bar in 2020. 'It was a little bit limited in who we could reach as far as it being inside of a bar and the bar hours and things like that. So, we kind of use that as a launching pad or a stepping stone, I guess, if you will, to get our product kind of figured out and kind of get the brand established,' Putzke said. Aside from the arcade area, the new location has other perks as well. 'We'll be able to be open for lunch now. Bar was open at 4:00 every day, so we'll be able to do lunch all the way through dinner. We'll be able to offer our own beverages, beer and wine. You know, that's something that being inside the bar that was that was theirs to sell,' Putzke said. 'The menu that was down at Hello High traveled with us, with the addition of pastas, like four pastas, appetizers, an extra salad, some desserts,' Pizza Cheeks Co-owner/ executive chef, Jordan Taylor said. This new location will create more opportunities for the staff at Pizza Cheeks. 'I'm really proud of the recipes. It's easy. It's really delicious. And I think that it's fun to have, expanded menu. We always wanted, like, do American Italian classics, and we can do it now, and we have the space to do it,' Taylor said. For people who cherish their pizza along with their cocktails, don't worry, they are keeping their location at Hello Hi open, but it will just be by-the-slice now. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
