Dubai Launches Research Awards 2025 to Empower National Talent and Boost Innovation
The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has launched the first awareness workshop for its newly announced Research Awards 2025, marking a strategic step toward strengthening innovation, research, and national talent development across the emirate's government sector.
Held virtually, the workshop drew over 300 participants, including government employees and students from leading academic institutions such as MBRU, MBRSG, HBMSU, and RIT Dubai. The initiative aims to bridge scientific research with practical government challenges to enhance institutional efficiency and drive sustainable development.
Abdulla Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director-General of DGHR, described the awards as a milestone in fostering a workplace culture rooted in creativity and knowledge. He emphasized that the initiative supports decision-making and policy formulation by encouraging applied research on current challenges and future opportunities.
Dr Amira Kamali, HR Consultant at DGHR, outlined the award's objectives, categories, and submission guidelines, highlighting its role in advancing applied research within the public sector. The event also featured four expert-led sessions on key HR topics, including employee wellbeing, policy development, and lifelong learning.
The final date for research submissions is 9 August 2025, with winners to be announced in October. DGHR plans to host a second awareness session in May to further engage participants and support proposal development.
The Research Awards form part of Dubai's broader vision to build a flexible, knowledge-driven government, investing in local capabilities and aligning with global best practices in human capital development.
