Michelle Yeoh Responds to Mom's Viral Request to Borrow Her SAG Awards Gown for Daughter's Wedding (Exclusive)

Tracy Kauffman-Wood has been trying to find a dress for her daughter's fall 2025 wedding Not a fan of shopping, she saw a dress she loved earlier this year: the one Michelle Yeoh wore to the 2025 SAG Awards Since Kauffman-Wood shared her story with PEOPLE, Yeoh herself has chimed in with an answer Tracy Kauffman-Wood, the mom who reached out to borrow Michelle Yeoh's 2025 SAG Awards dress for her daughter's wedding, has received a response. Tracy, 69, initially went viral on TikTok after her daughter Amity posted a video explaining how, with her wedding approaching in the fall, her mom had been keeping an eye out for dress options. Tracy, who told PEOPLE she has very particular style and taste, instantly fell in love with Yeoh's Armani Privé multi-color silk organza sleeveless sheer gown, covered in silk tulle and embroidered with hand-painted floral details and crystals. She decided to reach out on Facebook to ask if she could borrow it. Now, after Tracy shared the story with PEOPLE, Yeoh has taken notice — and replied. "What a fabulous and fearless mom!! Great taste, Tracy!" the Wicked star, 62, wrote on Instagram after reposting PEOPLE's story. "I'm so flattered you loved the stunning dress, but Amity's right! The dress is the brilliant handiwork of Armani Privé (and sadly not in my closet!). Wishing the loving couple the most beautiful, magical wedding, and Tracy, the perfect mother of the bride!" "I could tell that Michelle was an approachable and nice down-to-earth person, and that she would get the spirit in which I was asking," Tracy adds. "My mother always believed in what she called 'the power of the pen.' When she saw a play that she liked, she wrote to the director. When the supermarket gave her a good cut of beef, she wrote to them and told them how delicious it was. When she had an opinion on something, she wrote to the newspaper. So if I was being 'fearless,' I take after my mother.' Looking back on the experience, Amity shares that she had previously tried to explain to her mom that while the Crazy Rich Asians star wore the dress, she most likely didn't own it. Since she had a feeling that was the case, Amity says they soon plan to go dress shopping with her future mother-in-law, Judy. "Michelle, thank you for the response, and kind wishes," Amity adds. "You're invited to our wedding, no worries about the dress!" Read the original article on People

Beer firm to open new brewery after plans approved

Owners of a Leeds taproom said they were "absolutely delighted" to expand into Bradford, after plans were approved for a new brewery. Amity Brew Co was set up in Farsley in 2020, with beer brewed and served to customers on-site. But the brewery aspect will now move to Albion Mills in the Greengates area, after Bradford Council gave the plan the green light. Co-owner Verity Clarke said it was "exciting that we can finally get going". The taproom in Farsley is also set to be refurbished, with the brewery area to be replaced with extra seating. Amity has raised £50,000 to go towards making the site a six-day-a-week venue. Its owners aim to start brewing from Bradford by May ready for a launch event at the end of June. Ms Clarke said: "We eventually want to open more taprooms so we don't know exactly what that looks like yet. "The more we grow into doing cask beer we're thinking of more of a kind of traditional pub that could be our next site." The kit used to brew its beer has been donated to fellow West Yorkshire brewery Lost Cause. Listen to highlights from West Yorkshire on BBC Sounds, catch up with the latest episode of Look North.
