Somersworth special primary election for state rep. seat is May 6
SOMERSWORTH — A special primary election is planned for next week to choose a new state representative.
The election is to replace Democrat Dawn Evans, who moved out of Somersworth District 12, according to a representative of the city clerk's office.
The primary election will be held on Tuesday, May 6, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The general election will be held on Tuesday, June 24.
Deputy City Clerk Ammy Ramsey said three people have filed their intentions to fill the seat.
Democrat Billie Butler is running unopposed. Republicans Ken Hilton and Nick Boyle will compete in the primary with the winner facing Butler in June.
