Bangladeshi ‘fruits festival' held in Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, July 19: Fruits are imported to Kuwait from different parts of the world. This time, the juicy fruits of Bengal, including mango, jackfruit, pineapple, guava, amra, papaya, latkan, litchi, dragon fruit and various other fruits, have been added to that list. A special 'fruit festival' was held in Kuwait with the seasonal fruits of Bangladesh's honey month. This exceptional fruit festival was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Association, Kuwait and the Bangladesh Press Club Kuwait. The fruit festival held on Friday night was presided over by the President of Bangladesh Cricket Association Kuwait, Jahangir Khan Palash. The chief guest was the Head of Shuwaikh Municipality, Khaled Sultan Al Uchaimi. The special guests were the President of Bangladesh Press Club Kuwait, Senior Journalist Moin Uddin Sarkar Sumon, Senior Vice President of Cricket Association, Sarowardi, Engineer Atiqur Rahman, Engineer Zulfikar Pathik. The overall supervision of the fruit festival was provided by the General Secretary of the Cricket Association, Moazzem Hossain, Ismail Hossain, and Organizing Secretary Anwar Kalam. For the first time, the guests at the Bangladesh Fruit Festival tasted the juicy fruits of Bangladesh. The guests were full of praise for the best Amrapali mango of Bangladesh. Khaled Sultan Al Uchaimi said, 'This is the first time I am eating the national fruit of Bangladesh, jackfruit, in Kuwait. And the mango is, in a word, amazing! 100% pure, full of flavor. If these fruits are imported to Kuwait all the time, I am sure everyone will love them and want more. Imports 'If the governments of Bangladesh and Kuwait come together and make arrangements to officially import fruits and serve these fruits in big markets, then if someone eats them once, they will want to eat them again and again. Bangladeshi fruits are truly world-class. If Kuwait-Bangladesh advance in agricultural trade, the people of both countries will benefit'. Senior journalist Moin Uddin Sarkar Sumon, president of Bangladesh Press Club Kuwait, spoke to Bangladeshi fruit importers in Kuwait. Moin Uddin Sarkar Sumon said that after talking to importers, he learned that many businessmen have improved the quality of packaging on their own initiative. Due to the low airfares of different airlines, the price of the products fluctuates a lot. If high-level officials of the two countries pay attention to the issue, it is possible to improve a lot. Expatriate Bangladeshis are happy to come to the seasonal fruit festival in the desert country, they say that such an event should be held every year, and on a large scale. The organizers say that their aim is not only to display the fruits, but also to showcase Bangladeshi agricultural products in the international market. If there is a regular supply in a market like Kuwait, this will be a huge opportunity for farmers. If these fruits of Bangladesh are regularly available in the Kuwaiti market, the demand will increase manifold. Those concerned believe that this will not only be a sweet example of trade, but also of friendship between the people of the two countries.

26k flats in stalled Amrapali projects ready, 8k by Sept
Noida: Marred by delays over GRAP restrictions and fund crisis, National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) will complete the construction of 8,000 flats in the stalled projects of Amrapali Group by Sept 2025, six months after its initial deadline of March. Of the 37,000 stalled units that govt-run construction company was tasked to complete under Supreme Court-appointed court receiver, 26,800 flats have been constructed so far. The last of the stalled projects, Adarsh Awas Yojna, is expected to be ready by March 2026. NBCC officials said once units are ready, they notify the court receiver, which verifies documents before issuing no-objection certificates (NOCs) to homebuyers. NBCC CMD KP Mahadevaswamy told TOI that although the projects were initially planned for completion by March 2025, construction-related restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) and delays in approvals for additional floor area ration (FAR) led to a funding crunch. "As a result, the first phase will now conclude by Sept 2025, except for Adarsh Awas Yojna, which has close to 2,000 flats and will be completed by March 2026," he added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Experience the thrill on every turn with the new SP125 Honda Learn More Undo NBCC has collected around Rs 2,600 crore from buyers, with Rs 500 crore still pending from about 3,900 units. Currently, work is underway in two phases of Verona Heights and Dream Valley Phase 2, and some other projects. Launched in 2010, Amrapali projects faced severe delays, prompting homebuyers to approach the National Consumer Forum and later the Supreme Court in 2017. Following an SC-ordered forensic audit submitted in March 2019, which revealed gross fund mismanagement, the court appointed a receiver and designated NBCC as the project management consultant in July 2019. Initially, NBCC struggled with funding but later secured Rs 650 crore from SBI CAP for six projects and a Rs 1,500 crore loan from a consortium of banks. It also collected Rs 2,200 crore from homebuyers and recovered around Rs 2,000 crore by selling Amrapali promoters' assets to keep the construction moving. NBCC has also infused over Rs 650 crore from its own funds.

Pocket FM has claimed that Kuku FM has systematically copied its shows over the past four years, despite prior legal actions. It has highlighted alleged infringement of five audio series, Super Yoddha , Insta Empire , Amrapali, Vashikaran, and The Immortal Warrior. Live Events It has also accused Kuku FM of using similar show titles, episode names, and, in one instance, an identical poster for Shoorveer, allegedly designed to mislead listeners and capitalise on Pocket FM's brand reputation. Senior advocate Amit Sibal, appearing for Pocket FM along with law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, argued that Kuku FM has engaged in 'wholesale infringement' by replicating core creative elements such as themes, characters, and story arcs. In May 2025, Pocket FM filed a separate case in the Delhi High Court against Kuku FM for allegedly pirating its show Insta Millionaire. Sibal told the court that in that case, which resulted in an injunction order on 30 May, Kuku FM had 'bodily lifted' the show. The copying was so blatant, he said, that episodes on Kuku FM's platform ended with the line: 'aage ki kahani jaane ke liye, log in kariye Pocket FM par' (to know the rest of the story, log in to Pocket FM). Calling Kuku FM a 'habitual infringer,' Sibal emphasised the repeated and deliberate nature of the alleged conduct, describing it as 'systematised and extensive'. Pocket FM is seeking a permanent injunction to restrain Kuku FM from using its content, destruction of the infringing material, and an award of damages and legal costs. Pocket FM and Kuku FM are Indian audio streaming platforms that offer spoken-word content such as audiobooks, audio series, and podcasts in multiple Indian languages. Both target regional-language listeners across India and compete in the growing audio content market.
